Alright kiddies, go get yourself one of these babies. They are being used in Europe to bring youngsters up to grade for the 125GP and 250GP bikes in a stock class similar to the StreetStock being run in NZ but with only these bikes in the field.

If you are lucky enough to be getting in to riding and have a spare $10k sitting spare then get along to Mt Eden Motorcycles or your local Aprilia dealer and get yourself a REAL RACE BIKE!

$10k? No waiiii! In TFA they mentioned that it is ~$3700 for power-restricted version and ~$3900 for unlimited version IIRC (cbf opening article again). I assume those are Merkin $? Our exchange rate isn't that bad...

yep article is in Great Britain Pounds...

What you are missing is the fact that it is the 3rd best handling bike ever (not sure what 1st and 2nd are), but if you got the full powered version you probably wouldnt need to bother upgrading to a 600 if you were a talented enough rider. I would go take it for a test ride to see how true the talk really is, but i dont have a spare $10k lying around for a 125cc bike.

Aprilia have done well in the sense of developing such a good bike, of that capacity for the uk market.

They will sell really well there.

The thing is, at 17 years old, learners motorbike license, you can only ride upto a 125, very few people get there 33hp license before they are 21, so the kids with rich daddys will have them when they are 17, the high earning 18's+ will buy them, and most will keep them even when they get their 33hp license (full power they are 33hp) as they are kick arse bikes. And when they bin them, or blow them up (they will) and claim insurance (mandatory there) they'll buy another one.

Win Win Win for Aprilia

$6k for a 15 year old 250 is retarded. But who am I to judge?

Try working harder. 10k is very acheiveable. Even easier for something like that. Its all about the goals man, and whos arm you can twist.

Fark yea, thats the bizness... Id own that
I particulary like the dash.. way better than the rs250's
I imagine if you used that as a bucket racer you'd have an instant advantage..

Had a sit on one yesterday.

Ooooo that's nice. Seating position is like my old '04 R6, and it looks and feels like a much bigger bike than a 125. But holy crap it's light.

Tempted to pick it up and chuck in the back of the MPV.

$9995 though. But by golly it would be fun to go tease the 250 boys on the takas. King of the hill. Until Pickles goes past on his chook chaser.

why dont u just get an rs250 ? are you saying your gettin the 125 cause its the new model and thats it ? :gob: would be curious though, only ridden an rgv250, 125 could be fun :scooter:. As for the 125cc restriction overseas, they have some nice inline fours coming out aswell, think theyre 150's though, the honda cbr150r or rr or whatever it is is quite flash :done:

Grantasaurus
19th October 2006, 19:44
I'd get one...
Then drop a CBR or ZXR motor into it.

That'd sort it out.

Better it sound like a sewing machine than a chainsaw... Lol

Mr. Peanut
19th October 2006, 20:02
My chainsaw would cut your sewing machine to bits :msn-wink:

*sigh* I think you are missing the point.

James Deuce
19th October 2006, 22:02
I think they are too Mr Peanut.

I'm fairly certain there'd be very few 250 multis that would even be able to smell two stroke exhaust from that little beauty on the right road, let alone see a tail light.

SlowHand
19th October 2006, 22:20
Too much to hope for a 250 'big brother' i guess.. This 4stroke business is poo, even if i have 100horses

lukelin250
19th October 2006, 23:00
at least we would have change out of 10 k for beer once we got to the pub even if it was behind the two smoker.....

Mr. Peanut
19th October 2006, 23:08
Is that before, or after you burn a valve?

James Deuce
19th October 2006, 23:11
If you could buy a 4 stroke 250cc multi NEW I doubt you'd get much, if any, change from $10K.

I know what I'd have if I was 20 and on my learners.

Mr. Peanut
19th October 2006, 23:12
If I sold my NSR, I know what I'd be buying

A used RS250, but that's a given...

i guess shes all good, could they please do a 250 version so we could get the max out of it on our learners tho, then id drool for her :gob:

Ixion
20th October 2006, 17:18
They do. Have you not heard of the RS250 ? Some learners think highly of them. For a while. Sort of accelerated Darwinism.

Mr. Peanut
20th October 2006, 17:21
I think he means this particular design. The previous RS250 was a bit bulbous. Thinking of buying one for keeps, but that would be kind of sad. Sane, but sad.

lukelin250
20th October 2006, 17:22
oh,then whys everyone goin on bout this 125 :scooter: could u be bothered postn the 250 pics??

Mr. Peanut
20th October 2006, 17:24
They are not made any more due to emission restrictions...

I'm off to burn some tires

And no I can't be bothered FFS use Google.

James Deuce
20th October 2006, 17:28
a hyosung????

Probably, because then I'd only have to spend $6k on the bike, and $4k on my bitch would get me unlimited blow jobs.
