Im rebuilding a 1981 CB250 & I need cush drive rubbers & a couple of other parts for the same area of the bike. Ive tried my local honda shop & they havent got back to me yet. Im wondering if there is an OEM supplier of these bits or if i have to go Honda .
Also, did the cush drive from this model overlap into other models? IE does the more modern CB range use the same drive?
thanks in advance:2thumbsup

http://www.econohonda.co.nz/ can be quite helpful. Give them a call. Having the part number helps them a lot. Do you have a parts fiche?

PS: Welcome!

Nope, sorry. Google a lot. And a lot more.

Get a technical book store to order you in a copy of the Haynes manual, should be about $50.

just ring a couple of wreckers. I went to a honda shop today for the same thing, cush rubbers $15 each ex japan.
Sent an email to a favourite wrecker, got an answer back in 30 minutes, they are on their way no charge. Thanks Bryce at Buckets n bits

Believe it or not I got some parts for my '84 CB250RS from Cyclespot Honda at Takapuna on Barry's Point Rd.... BRAND NEW! They weren't pattern parts either, they were proper Honda bits. Maybe this is common knowledge to everybody else but I was really surprised they still make stuff like this. Try Cyclespot, you never know, especially as you're in Auckland too.

BTW: I like your bike... I thought about one but they're too heavy for me (it's a downsleeved 400, isn't it?) so I bought it's smaller, sportier brother instead. Good luck!

What's a cush drive?

What's a cush drive?
Found it. They are those triangle shaped rubber cushion things found in the rear hub on the rear axle.

Their function on a bike is:
These rubber spacers act like a damper between the rear sprocket and the rear wheel and are critical to suppress harsh jolts travelling between the motor and the rear wheel. Twist on the throttle and the cush drive prevents damage by absorbing a portion of the abrupt energy.
