What's this 10 character goal for posts? Who started it and why? Is it a global phenomenon or uniquely KB? Eh?

It is to try and convince people to post thought out and constructive replies instead of
yip
nup
etc

I'm glad you asked because I was wondering that too. Sadly I am unable to construct well thought out comments :baby:

You would think there would be an upper limit too wouldn't you?
Anyone who has witnessed the great soliloquys that pass for narratives on 250cc rides frequently posted by gijoe1313 :Pokey: on this forum would be forced to agree that an imposed upward limit on the number of characters allowed within a post would greratly assist in the application of restraint pertaining to verbosity.
yep.

There are ways around it, but at the risk on millions of posts with 3 letters appearing and pissing off the mods and Spank, I wont divulge that info.

The 10char limit is a rather useful and obvious as to why it's there.
Think posts have 10,000 char limit and PM about 1500 char.
At least those messages make sense, they're much better than MS Word grammar message
- "Fragment (consider revising)".

The REAL REAL REAL reason for the 10 character minimum is to prevent people quoting the entirety of GIJoe's posts (or mine, for that matter) and adding "Me too"...

As mentioned its to ensure people post things that actually contribute to a thread and not just 3 word answers that mean nothing to anyone but the poster.
If a 3 word answer is posted and it does not contriburte to the thread and is a basic "post count race" post, it will be moved to PD.

People actually read all that random dribble I bash out on my keyboard while I'm in the throes of a brain fart? :gob: I just thought it was my way for mental health relief from teaching ignorant, rude buggers all day (and thats just the KBers!) ... once an English teacher ...  :baby: :Pokey:

The real concern here is that you couldn't work out a logical reason or 2 for yourself.

A means to increase the 'short attention span' of KB posters. I think it's got something to do with having ten didgets. Anything more than ten and the IQ jumps up exponenitially. Well that's my theory. :jerry:
