Hi Has anybody had any success finding aftermarket versions of the shock absorbing rubber mounted nuts that are used to hold fairings and windscreens on your bike.

I found these guys on the web but they are in the UK, and not sure if they will even respond to my email.

I think they are called Welnuts, I think you can get them at Colemans, Idon't like them much, some came with the belly pan fairing on my Duc, and they seem to melt!

Lock nuts and spring washers much better idea!

Yep right on, now have 4 off these making their way from Visual Plasitic in Hamilton 07 847-0005 as we speak. $3.60ea inc the 5mm mushroom head stainless hex screws that come with them.

Huge difference from the $14 ea from Kawasaki.

Much Cred to you thankyou.

Moderators perhaps you could make this thread sticky as I'm sure it will help others in the future.

Cheers to all

Just a tip for using welnuts:
The internal bush is brass,so corrosion can seize the screw, occassionally.
apply anti-seize (copper cote, loctite nickel antiseize etc)to prevent this happening
