Hi All
Well I'd just like to say hi!
I'm new to NZ, I moved here from the UK in July with my wife and kids.
I currently live in Paraparaumu, on the Kapiti Coast near Wellington. Nice place.
I also brought with me my motorbikes (well they came by ship). Which have now finally been delivered to my house.
I know I should have sold them in the UK before I came, but the offers I where getting in the UK for the bikes where rubbish.
And as all our other belongings weren't enough to fill a container we needed a space filler, so that was a great excuse to bring my bikes.
Anyway I have a Honda CBX750F 1983 with only 35K on the clock, and a CZ 250 Twin (Jawa Engined).
As you can see I like old unusual bikes, plus they are a lot easier to service.
All I have to do now is get them 'entry certified'. The only problem is is that you can't ride them to the test centre, well not legally.
So I need to get them trailered to the centre. :(
Anyhow greetings to you all. Hope to meet up for a ride one day.
Cheers
Curt

Welcome to our shores and to KB. Good luck with trailering. There's always someone here who will help.

Welcome and good luck with getting the bikes certified,
hoping your family enjoys NZ as much as you will on a bike.

Welcome to KB from an ex-Pom (31 years ago!). There are quite a few KB'ers from the Kapiti Coast. If you find Freebird on line, he arrived from the UK this week and is in Wellington.

Hi Curt
A warm welcome to KB and NZ.
Hope you get those bikes of yours back on the road very soon. I am a fan of the CBX 750. Post a pic up when you get a chance. At only 35K it must be sweet as. :-) Cheers Geoff

Welcome to KB. You will find that this place is very addictive. Keep an eye on the calendar for rides. (83 bikes lined up in Martinborough square a couple of weeks ago!). They are a friendly (although mad) bunch of crazies here. Come on in, take your shoe's off. Put your feet up and make yourself at home. Oh! bye the way.... it's your round.

HI Curt,
Welcome, have been here a year, brought my bike over, and rode it to the test centre, have been told there is a certain amount time allowed to ride with foreign plates, but dont know how true this is.

Hi All
Just to let you know my CBX is back on the road.
All certified, WOF, Rego, etc.
I've now been riding for just over a week.
Nice ride into Wellington, well it would if it wasn't for all these cars. Bloody things should be band.
I've just got to get my timing right to try and avoid the worst of it.
Cheers
Curt

Welcome to NZ! Take the back roads... SH1 is a tad boring and full of idiots who can't see bikers coming.
I loved it down in Wellington but have moved to the warm (and less windy) north.
The Rimutakas or Paekakariki hill roads are worth a look for a quick rides in the area.
I miss my Wellington biker mates.... keep riding and having fun you lot!!
Met a few ex-brits up this way... all good buggers.
