Well excuse the vagueness here, but sometime this week a new series is coming on the discovery channel about bike culture in america, focussing largely on choppers and all that luverly stuff, I for one am really looking forward to seeing it, I just love some of the custom bikes and the immense efforts their owners put into making them truly unique. It's a shame there aren't too many chopperised bikes around these days, they really are rather cool I think.

Hey I've just checked our tv guide and it's on tonight at 7.30 pm, I can tape it if you like, hopefully I have a blank tape somewhere!! also there's an associated competition on at www.discoverychannel.com.au in which you could win a trip to OZ with a road trip on harleys all expenses etc and 2nd prize a whole lot of harley books, definately worth a crack at anyway.

A bike's a bike. I'm no great fan of Harleys, but the choppers that some of the Chopper shops turn out are something else. They are a work of love. As for the trailoring. Some of these bikes are show bikes. The way some drivers drive and the time and expense put into these machines....can you blame them.

Saw the programme for the first time today. Orange County Choppers.

I did tape some of it but being the moron I am in charge of a video recorder, I managed to tape the best part of the whole thing with the video on another channel, by the time I realised it was too late, so I'm really sorry funkyfly, it's on again next week and I have to say although these bikes are way over the top, the workmanship and dedication to detail is awesome, like someone else has said it's a work of art and no wonder these guys don't ride their bikes hard, they are literally show pieces. Not overly practical but darned pretty! I believe the series goes for a while so I'm more than happy to tape the rest for you no problems and I promise not to screw it up next time :baby:

"Junk" is in the eye of the beholder, if you think H-D is junk then don't buy one, simple eh? You ride what you want and I'll do the same, I never look at a brand X bike and think "junk, who the hell would want one of them". I ride with guys on just about the whole gamut of bike makes & we all get along O.K.

Of course you could also follow my 'other' line of thought - "there's two types of riders, those already on a Harley and those that want to be, which are you" hoo-haa :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: just kidding but it gets a good bite :spudbooge
