fuck that b king is one ugly piece of shit, I'm dissapointed, why can't those pathetic 'performance-driven' engineers at suzuki get it right, I want an old school muscle bike that's brand new and cheap.

zeRax
12th October 2006, 19:26

Swantiger,

Grab a 1400 while they are still being made mate :)

I think we may get a few in early 2007 as they don't pass ECU emissions controls in Europe and that's why they are being dumped. They were never released in USA even thoug many wanted them, which is a shame. The Bandit was watercooled and Fuel Injected to get around the ECU rules but they made so many more of these than 1400's.

I reckon if enough people actually rode the things to see what they are really like, they would esll heaps more of them.

If you can't buy new, there's always my Blue and white at Colemans and she's sweet.

Those B-King exhausts and this talk of it being supercharged are mighty familiar would it have been 5 years ago (maybe even more) at Big Boys Toys?

for sure a classic, but watch the bike shops give them away, as they are traded in against the K7.

SARGE

for sure a classic, but watch the bike shops give them away, as they are traded in against the K7.

same thing happened with the k2-k4 bikes when the k5 came out .. couldnt GIVE the goddamn things away.. everyone traded them in to upgrade to the k5.. when i left Colemans we had a bunch of the last generatin and they were trying to move them for 11-14,000..

worst part was when someone had a k1-k4 the wanted to trade in on a k5-6.,.made it difficult to say the least because the customer was normally expecting 13-14000 and they were on the floor at 11000... :buggerd:

Lou Girardin
13th October 2006, 05:58
OK I take it all back. The Bnadit is watercooled and looks just like the K6.
Bugger!
I suppose it's got shim valve adjustment too. It better have alot more grunt to compensate.

The_Dover
13th October 2006, 08:37
funny that Sarge, but I know for sure that at least one person has traded a k3 for 14 grand in the last month or so and I don't recall seeing any of them going for 11, not even the horrible copper thing.

K2's are still retailing at 12.5 in some places too.

I reckon it's gonna be more along the lines of people trading up from 04/05 to 06 zx10's and then regretting it, we'll see.

Try $12k for an 05 Gixxer 1000. One down this way recently sold to a bike shop, then out the door for $16k within a few days.

Pretty sure my info is correct, unless it was a K6.

that's cos people down your way are dumb cunts.

letting a fuckin bikeshop get a 33% profit? mad.

Deano

Letting a K5 1000 go for $12k is pretty sad (did I just say that?).

Buying one for $16k is pretty great (shit, did I say that as well?).

It was not a standard bike either.

dawnrazor
13th October 2006, 09:33
I noticed the other day that colemans still have their ex-demo K5 1000 for sale for 17K, wonder what sorta price that'll go for eventually........especially when you'll pick up a new K7 for about 20K......

The_Dover
13th October 2006, 09:43
nope, I doubt the K7 will enter the market for less than 23.

That's what the K3 started at and the K5.

As for the demo, it's never been registered so you're getting a 2 year warranty on it, even if it has been raped like a kosovan peasant.

Yep it'd be like getting married to the town hooker..........well if they let it go for a little cheaper I might be able to get over that

* Dry Weight – 172kg as against 166kg for K6If one replaced the mufflers with some carbon ones. I think the weight could come back down to a similar figure.

But, fuck, people, think about it, '166' kg instead of '172' kg. That's altering the power weight ratio.. Umm.. Not a hell of a lot.

Plus whatever magic handling pixie dust Suzuki have sprinkled on the chassic will result in handling that is at least the same, and most likely better. And it has the split fuel tank, airbox thingamy that I quite like the look of. Compared to the earlier thou's (And pre-K6 600s and 750s) big fat ugly tanks.

I, for one, welcome our new K7 overlord. :not: :not: :not: and will be at the bike shop having a go soon after it's release. I will be a sissy and switch on the 'rain' mode even if it is perfectly dry.

I expect to be spurned mightily by all you smelly K5 and K6 owners who insist on holding onto their (Massively depreciateing because they are stupid Sukuki bottom line eaters) 'classics'.

Boo hoo, woe is me and my warranty.

I hope the K5/K6's do come down, but I can't see it. They're still alot of bike for your buck and won't drop as much as you'd expect. If they do, new
k6 for Mr Wilde!

Brilliant deals on the current 650 Bandits here to clear them, faired ABS model with free rack, backbox and a years fully comp insurance for less than a CBF500 Honda,a lot of mightily pissed off Bandit owners though, kicked the shit out of secondhand values of 1-3 year-old bikes.

Or even better - go on a diet!

Reducing your bodyweight by a couple of kg is cheaper than carbon fibre cans.

Hmmm. The 650 Bandits aren't available over here! we're told they're a Jap domestic model. Aussie importers make strange decisions though as to what will sell. This year the Honda importers stopped bringing in the CBR600F.

Another stange thing is the announcement by suzuki that the Bandit will no longer be produced after next year. Strange to give the bike a larger/new engine and then discontinue it. The move to water rather than oil cooling is a step in the right direction though.

There are tons of second hand CBR250R's flooding the Victorian market.

Why?
More complication for next to no gain. At this rate Suzuki will be as bad as Honda.
