Hey guys

I'm currenly nipping around town on a 1984 Honda MB100, The bike is powerful enough for nipping around town but in febuary I'm starting polytechnic so will be needing a motorway capable bike.

Because of the learner restrictions its gotta be <250

I've been doing some research and this is what I come up with, price needs to be less than $5000

Sensible Choice: Suzuki Bandit 250
Want: Honda 250 NSR(if I can find one!)

Anyone with more experience with bikes got any better choices? I wouldn't say I'm a complete noob but I've still got alot to learn, I do all my maintanance myself and I've been riding the mb100 on and off the last 2 years so atleast I think I'm ready for something bigger. I'm sitting my restricted licence in the next few weeks should of done it a long time ago but I've been overseas.

Thanks in advance.

A Bandit's the sensible choice? F*ck me!

Depending on dollars one of the (Honda) VTR's would probably be a good call. Consider also Kawasaki GPX. If you're feeling a bit more flush there are starting to be some Hyosung Comets going second hand for about $4k.

GSXR 250

gutless, looks the business and has a fairing....perfect....

to be honest anything under 250cc is going to be an easy option, unless its a balls out 2 stroker...ah what the hell go large
