hi guys, my last two times iv'e been out on my bike i have had these pricks driving four wheelers ATV's or whatever they call them trying to take me out.!!!
today i was riding over the Kaimai's from Tauranga, was going up the outside lane passing , hardly any traffic, as i was comming up beside this prick, he was doing about 110 i was doing about 130, i was right beside him he puposefully swerved his vehicle at me,, it was very close. i pulled in front of him, turned and gave him the big bird and was gone.
last weekend i was on a very long straight somewhere between Tearaha & matamata? i could see tis 4 wheel drive comming in the distance, he crossed the centre line & continued to drive straight at me!
there was not another car or bike on the road.
faark! is my time due or what? i might have start tapeing spark plugs to my bars.
has anyone else had any similar occurances? :baby: :baby: :baby:

Crikey!! Unfortunately mate there are alot of ignorant fuckers out there when it comes to motorcyclists, where you were going up the Kaimai`s its possible that he had passed everything and wasn`t expecting you to come up on his 6 so quickly and may have been away with the fairies ,(that`s merely a theroy though) as for the other son of a 1 legged ugly prostitute, that cunt desreves to die a horrible death, that sort of shit disturbs me to no end , and as you will soon see it peeves others on this site aswell , the police should do psyche evaluations before handing out licences to cocksuckers like the cunt you encounted, unfortunately there would be some bikers out there with no licences either lol (We know who you are)Mtae don`t let pricks like that put you off riding , just have a plan b when shit like this happens, Happy & Safe trails matey.

Where is Mr Plod when you need them...
I had a similar experience about a month ago on East Coast road, not far from Kaiuaw (?) fish and chip shop, I think it was a 70k zone. This old man just came out from a drive way, saw the two of us coming from his rear view mirror. He was probably doing 50-60k, my friend pass him, then came my turn, when I was about one car length away from passing him he swerved to the other lane and back on purpose. It gave me a fright :( so I gave him the finger when I passed him slowly.
However, there was this other guy on a R1 (non KBer I think) saw the whole thing from the back and was obviously not happy about it, so he followed him closely from the back and giving gestures and stuff. When I noticed this while turning into the f n c shop, I turned back out to just back him up. So we followed him for a while, by this time we were really slow - about 10k - the R1 guy kicked his door and punched his side mirror :) However, after a while I just told the R1 guy to forget it, that's enough and thanks. It's a shame I never had the chance to talk to him or buy him a beer.
The old man on the car was horrible, like you, we were not even honing and was a clear cut overtaking with no on coming traffic, and he has to do what he did, sheesh... these ppl don't relise they could easily get us killed by doing what they did, bastards!

Agreed

Yes, but what are the chances of a biker causing them death? Pretty low compared to us IMO, and that's the big difference.

No way, it's so much fun it's worth the risk :D

yeah i have a plan B, it's an inbuilt thing you don't even think about.
get away from them. i almost expect them to do it you know?
also i forgot to mention, these two old bags in a wee car pulled out in front of me today as well, just as i was leaving town for my ride.
they had seen me but just continued to turn right onto the main road in front of me, i braked hard went around them, pulled in front of them as well and gave them the big finger, and they made out they could not see me, they just stared straight through me!
i have been riding since 19.. well a long time anyway LOL.
i am a very carefull rider almost too carefull sometimes, i never take risks.
but fuck, i was pissed off today. the ride home was good.

This is sounding all too familiar, know how it feels and reading about these circumstances makes me  How is it that there are decent drivers who acknowledge that bikes are quicker and actually pull over to let you pass safely and then there are the moving black spots who make life hell for you?
Think of the children! Oh the humanity of it all! Can't we just...get along?:(
Ah well, least nothing totally untoward happened ...

I'm afraid this is all to common. Just remember: to many motorists, we are the target and they are the bullet fired from the gun. They make contact and you are dead, not them. :(
I've had a 4wd pull from the left lane into the right lane when I was right alongside him on the Bombay to Drury stretch and moving at 109kmh due to the presence of laser on the Ramarama over bridge. Though he had his window down, I had the horn full on my headlights always on full, he just kept on coming and even looked right at me in his rear view mirror which was right in front of my face. He couldn't care less.
Coming thorugh the Kopu Hikuias on three seperate occassions, I have had cars actually pull over the centre line on purpose whilst I have been overtaking them, missing my leg my millimetres. This has also happened on the Taupo to Napier highway as well.
Now, I consider that any motorist is out to get me until I prove otherwise.
Ride with this attitude and expect the worst. I now. also always slow down when I see a car getting readu to pull out of side roads or driveways. I've had way to many, look straight at me eye to eye and just pull out anyway.

I sympathise, i had a similar incident coming down the hill into Browns Bay. A bunch of thugs in a big old Kingswood were turning into the Pub, they saw me coming and were playing chicken lurching forward then again and again then made as though they were going to drive straight into me.
I gave them the Bird and yelled really loud and one threw a bat at me, (which missed:just) meanwhile they floored it into the drive to turn and chase but he didn't look and smashed right into an oncoming Merc, relativly new one. Needless to say I got away, but I bet the guy in the merc wouldn't have been thrilled as I bet the scoundrells had no insurance.
They wern't the knid of people you would mess with but.

Well, that's on the spot justice for you. :)
Pity about the person in the Merc though. :(

i'm affaird bad drivers everywhere, you got to have eyes at the back of your head. when i'm driving a give the bike opportunity to over take if they wish no problem as long as they do'nt hold me up, like all decent drivers give a wider birth for a cyclist.:(

Yep happens quite a bit down here in wellyburg too. I went to pass in the last passing bay going south off the Tukkas and this complete mensa candidate in a land cruiser swerved out wide so he was between to lanes while I was out beside him on a freakin corner, so I had half a lane width to complete the maneuver. Scared the tripe outta me. Gave him the one fingered invitation to go fornicate with himself as I scraped passed him and he tried to speed up and tail gate me.
Asshats like that should be flogged with three core electrical wire and have sharpened bamboo inserted in a lot of soft strategic places. Oh and red hot tea spoons under the eyelids.
Rant over, happiness restored.

Actually, I haven't had any such experiences recently (touch wood-ooooh that felt good)...
Where was I.... ohh yeah... in contrast, quite a few drivers giving me space when I'm lane-splitting and general polite-ness! Maybe it's .50 cal mounted on the triple clamp? ;)

some fuckhead in a nissan took exception to being passed by me in the waipoua forest last weekend, absolute cock jockey.
I had passed the car behind him, which he was in convoy with, and everytime I tried to get past this cunt he sped up and swerved at me. I was 2 up with Vic on the back of HER 750 so didn't want to ride like a total arse, SuperDave was behind us so can verify this wanker's behaviour, eventually I just gunned it and dropped the bike into a tight left hander in front of him hoping that he'd take one last stab at me and end up in the bushes. No such luck, captain cockstick just jammed on the horn and waved his big boonga paw out the window at me, fuckin moustachioed closet case. It took Dave a few stabs to get by the prick too I think.
Anyway, we stopped with Zed just as you come into Dargaville when said wanker convoy came past us yelling insults.
I just wish DMNTD had caught up with the fuckers.

That's why they complain to the cops and make the cops chase us through Albany with speed guns when we ride in groups.
They're trying to split us up for easy pickings.

Get some 100W Xenon headlight bulbs in - it makes a huge difference to your daytime visibility either with something coming towards you or with you approaching from the rear. I've had mine in for a couple of years now and others on this site will also tell you how good they are too.

Yesterday, you gota love this, a turbo XR6 was bein an egg trying to egg me on for a drag. He was gunning the engine and watching me so close that he forgot he was in the wrong lane. He took off as I did and nearly took out the defencless light pole in the middle of the turning lane. All this in front of peak hour traffic, the encore was fantastic, and he looked like a total plonka.
I steadily paced off at the speed limit giving him the queens wave.
Maybee not that fascinating, but was funny at the time. Cages still suck the big kumara, we just have to be even more cautious to compensate for there idiotic behaviour. Cops don't do much, but are the first to pick off bikers or pull us over for limited reasons.
Actually, do many of you guys get picked on by our law inforcers? I seem to get a fair share.

I think you're getting your fair share cos you are running a road legal version of the space shuttle. :)
An M109 you aren't going to miss in a hurry, especially leaving rubber and smoke alongside XR6's. :2thumbsup
