How Much Is This Worth?

Leading a bid on an FZR250 (2kr), thanks to a guy pulling his bid out. How much do you think this bike is worth, and do you think I should bother, or would it probably die in 6-8 months with no resale value?FZR250 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=73695771)

really depends on the condition of the engine, but it's a inline4 250 so I'd say it's worth heck a lot more than $1000 and it would retain the value pretty well as long as you take care of it. I do believe if the seller went out of the way to tidy up the bike, the auction would go for a lot more and it still probably will. For comparison just check out how other inline4 250s from about the same time are going, seeing the high kms on this one I'd say it's worth around 2 grand or slightly over?

If mechanically good (get it checked!), that's a good price, I'd say... You'l struggle with resale at those kms, but if you got it for cheap, then you can seel if for cheap as well!
