Yay... I might be able to make this one!!!

Sams heading up norf this weekend and leaving me up to my own devices in Auckland hehe :)

I've just gotta get my brake problem sorted, and if i have the bike back by the weekend I'll be keen to come along weather pending :)

Well the brakes work... but the left side front disc is sqeaking... and I've been advised that if I continue to ride it, I could risk warping the disc and having to fork out another $400 for a new one...

I'm taking the ZXR in on Wed/Thur and so should have it back by Fri :) I don't know many routes... So I'm happy to be tail end charlie is no-one else has volunteered yet?

Cool - this means I might be allowed to go at the front of the group so I can HOOOON! Only kidding - regular readers of "McJim's daily Bullshit" will know that top end performance is not the VTR's strong point!

Had an interesting run on Saturday with TLDV8 and gijoe1313 - basically took the first half of the Goat Track GP and stuck it on to the tried and tested Learner friendly run.

How does everyone feel about twisties?

If there's enough interest we could split in 2 groups again. Twisty group and straight line group.

yeah, their engines are generally bullet proof due to be highly understressed.:Pokey:

Your engine's only highly stressed coz someone told it what happened to your last 2 Gixxers - you have to drop valium in the tank just to make it idle.

16th October 2006, 13:43
nah, both engines are still on the road.

T'was deep in the ditch - I remember the photo.

Dover - wotcha doin' on a Learner Friendly thread anyway? Looking for fresh victims to hurl into gijoe1313's corner?

I nearly stopped at that corner to point it out to TLDV8 on Saturday but thought that would be too cruel to gijoe1313!

I'm quite proud of that corner I am! First bin at nana speeds on my 2nd day of riding! Wheee! :woohoo: Once I did that, I was happy as Larry and have never given binning a second thought again!

I'll be compiling a photo list of all the 250cc binning corners so we can have the bastiches nailed! I'm 1st in the line up!

Ahhh, I'm gutted - driving me olds down to Wellywood this weekend ... wonder if I could tack a trailer on the back of the car and have me bike and ride it! (to misquote a quote)

Have fun on the ride guys, I was actually looking forward to being Tail Gun Charley in place of McJim, I felt like mother Theresa going to aid the unfortunate (need to build up those karma points so I can do some foolish things on the racing track later on in life!)

:weep: ahhh, I luv pootling along in the 250 crowd, s'kewl and s'fun and s'stonkin' to meet ovver luverrly riders into this two wheeled vehicular thang!

I think you'd have noticed if the engine was suffering - It's a good bike - I'd have it if I didn't have the Rat-bike already - if your arse sez yes and your ears say yes then go for it....and gimme a go on it - I wanna see how much faster they are than a VTR!

Hmmm mebbe I should buy it just to have a 250 V-twin to ride! :woohoo: I was considering the Spada for my first bike as well heheh

Yes he can, all he has to is dance naked around his bike at 2 mins to midnight wearing only, and this is the real pisser, Kitty's Green leg fuzzy's and a string of Garlic around his neck........trust me, this really works....:innocent:

If anyone is going from the shore tomorrow and wants to cruise over with some company, I'll be doing a quick run along Barry's Pt Rd just after 9.00 to see if anyone's hanging around.

Otherwise, see you at the 'other' meeting place.

Had a great day's riding - scrubbed in me new treads. Much stickier than the OEM's I had taken off.
Later on me and Mav went to collect a Crazy Frog (RG150...a ring ding ding ding dada da ding) for my missus to learn on. She had a wee run on it today and loves it so that's good...in the interests of engine longevity I borrowed it after her (she was fairly conservative with the revs) and thrashed the arse of it for a few minutes before bringing it back home.

Didn't realise two smokers were so loud.

Hey Mav, seems to be popular - worth organising another run this weekend?

You can speak nicely to Mrs McJim so she'll let me out for the day (she owes you a favour for bringing her bike up from Hamihole) - I think it's a good opportunity for route MkII again.

Maverick
24th October 2006, 11:43
If we stick to the schedule the next run would be November the 5th, If people are interested then maybe we could do a ride, end up at a suitable location for a BBQ that evening and let off some fireworks?

Of course that doesnt mean that Im not pursuadeable to putting on a ride this weekend if people are interested.
