Yeah, Bruce... you might as well change your profile to say Bike: None

So you wanna be a rock superstar, and live large
a big house, 5 cars, you're in charge
comin' up in the world, don't trust no body
gotta look over your shoulder constantly

I remember the days when I was a young kid growin up
looking in the mirror, dreamin about blowin up
the rock crowd, make money, chill with the honeys
sign autographs or whatever the people want from me
it's funny how impossible dreams manifest
and the games that be comin with it
nevertheless
you got to go for the gusto but you dont know
about the blood, sweat and tears
and losing some of your fears
and losing some of yourself to the years past,
gone by
hopefully it dont manifest
for the wrong guy
egomaniac and the brainiac
dont know how to act
48 tracks
studio gangster, mack,
sign the deal, thinks he's gonna make a mil
but never will til he crosses over
still filling your head with fantasies
come with me, show the sacrifice it takes to make the cheese

You wanna be a rock superstar in the biz
and take shit from people who dont know what it is
I wish it was all fun and games but the price of fame is high
and some cant pay the way
still trapped in what you rapping about
tell me what happened when you lost
the route you took started collapsing
no fans no fame no respect no change no women
and everybody shittin on your name

you ever have big dreams of making real cream
big shot, heavy hitter on the main
and you wanna look shanty
in the Bentley, be a snob and never act friendly
you wanna have big fame, let me explain
what happends to these stars and their big brains
first they get played like all damn day
long as you sell everything will be ok
then you get dissed by the media and fans
things never stay the same way they began
I heard that some never give full to the fullest
that's while fools end up dining on the bullet
think everything's fine in the big time
see me in my Lex with chrome raised high
so you wanna roll far
and live large
it aint all that goes with bein a rock star

my own son dont know me
I'm chillin in the hotel room lonely
but I thank God I'm with my homies
but sometimes I wish I was back home
but only no radio or video didnt show me
no love, the phony, gotta hit the road slowly
so the record gets pushed by Sony
I'm in the middle like mony
and the press say that my own people disown me
and the best way back
is to keep your head straight, never inflate the cranium
they're too worried about them honies at the Paladium (a venu in LA)
who just wanna cling on, swing on, and so on
go on, fall off, the ho's roll on
til the next rap superstar
with no shame
give em a year, he'll be right out the game
the same as the last one who came before him
gained fame, started gettin ignored, I warned him
assured him, this aint easy take it from Weezy
sleezy people wanna be so cheesy, the fuckin people

i beg to differ, but from what i have heard from crazy steve and winja, the faster you are on a place as tricky as the road, you will be even quicker on the road, as for straight bits of road...were talking gravel and roads like the 22..

the road is more dangerous than the track eg on the road you have traffic going both ways, you have people walking over the road you have no nice lill st john wating in the ambo for you, can only go on one side of the road if you have balls, the road serce is crap, and most of all you have lill niggers running around on the streets with god knows what weapons these days. I dont believe binning is winning, nor is dieing on the road. One thing i hope to never experiance in this life time is pulling a mate out of the grill of a truck and try to explain this to his wife/family. Remember you only get one chance at life and this attitude will definatly shorten it.

Perhaps we should leave this discussion for another thread – there’s been plenty of threads that have debated whether or not fast riding should only be on the track, and if you should always observe the road rules on public roads.:innocent:
This thread is used to talk about getting together on Friday nights in Hamilton, it’s seems to facilitate discussion and comradeship across our different ages and backgrounds, we should try and keep it this way.

I enjoy riding on the road
but i like to ride so that I make it home and can enjoy it again
I dont want to be on a ride where I might have to help clean up the mess
becasue someone is being stupid and gets themselves badly hurt or even killed.

shit man how would you feel if you were going along at 190k and hit someone killing them but lived yourself

you would have to live with the fact that you killed someone becasue you could not think of more than yourself and your fun

If you ride like that your luck is going to run out sometime sooner or later.

I also like to keep my licence, and keep my money in my back pocket and not have to pay fines.

bro, cleaning up the mess when someone bins it is fun, i have picked up plenty of broken bikes and hurt riders..and laughed at them

how would you feel if you did 240 kph on the road, on a borrowed VTR 1000 and loved it (please note, not some gay little CBR250)

how could you live with the fact that you did 130+ kph on the gravel and got muddy just for fun?

if you ride a trails bike at a event, and rode at 5kph up a 30 ft hill and thought it was the best thing ever?

if you ride like that money dont matter, its passion.

Heh, I ride fast on the road aswell nd I've only been on the track once. Most of the Tauranga crew would leave everyone of these young boys here in the dust. What's the difference? When one of us crashes none of us are happy about it and we are all very glad when they come through alive and we all learn something from it.

With you monkeys it seems that the point isn't to learn to ride well but to go as fast as possible and crash as often as possible. THAT is only going to get someone killed.

I'll tell you something else Carver and Zeroindex. Your lines scare the shit out of me. I'm not trying to come off like my lines are so bloody perfect god himself couldn't improve them but atleast I'm trying to improve them. I hvn't noticed much difference in yours.

I've had riders pass me close enough I can see the stitching on thier jackets and Crazy_steve buzzed me close enough once that I felt the air comming off him buffet the elbow of my jacket and been perfectly fine with it but I don't feel at all comfortable when you two are in just in sight.

My suggestion to you folks here, learn the difference between skill and sheer recklessness and stupidity.

You're all a bunch of good folks and fun to hang out with and shit but I don't like the idea of risking my own life every time I ride with y'all.

I think I've just worked out why you go so slowly on the road... it's because your dad is in the Ulysses isn't it? :motu:

If I hit anything at 190km/h and lived I would be totally stoked: GO THE QUASI GEAR!!!

I keep my money in my wallet, which sits in my front right pocket if I'm wearing jeans, or in my jacket... I don't trust people enough to keep money in my back pocket :nono:

yea i always chexk cavers back pocket for him when hes riding to see if hes got any money in there

its just a case of most bins wins, and riding on the track is more boring due to all the safety aspects..but i wouldn't know.
quasi's, jeans garnae's is all it takes on the road, none of this full protective gear rubbish:Punk:

mmm yes i love quasi's, jeans and garnae's. Mum fixed my favourite levis that i lowsided in a ripped to pieces, im happy as now i get to wear them.

However now that I have my restricted i am more inclined to take the 600 out now OPPS!!!!!!!!!!. Well the VT250 failed its warrent so i'm stuck needs a new back shock which hopefully isn't going to cost too much! And my CBR is in race mode (kyles taking to the race meeting on Sunday should be fun to watch!) so can't use that and i leant my bro my car so right now i'm just using kyles ute.

It would be really good to get together at some stage, during the day, if Warr is willing. You don't learn when you're riding with nothing in reserve, because you don't have time to think about what you're doing and correct it if it's wrong. A more relaxed ride getting some pointers would be brill.

there is a theory with lines - but it's interesting that I can be on the best line in a corner and still get ridden around! From talking to others it would seem throttle balance, moving your weight, counter steering and so on is more important.

Talk to guys like terminal and war and ask them about that kinda stuff. Both have given me some good tips.
I've been riding years longer than terminal but he has developed into a tight rider - it's about asking, reading, learning and putting it into practice - then ride ride ride, and ride some more, from what I can tell.

P.S Pm'd you about a ride tomorrow

Sounds like it would be good to get out for a "Lines & Tips Ride". I'd vote Paul along as well. He was involved in the previous mentor's riding and You'd probably get more sensible answers from him.
My learning was doing some track time and following guys on Coro loop. The likes of Quazi. When I'm riding I'm not doing much theorising .. just sort of going. I think Paul (and others :) ) maybe able to convey/explain better what is going on !!

You'd be surprised, think about the bike difference as well, it's not just rider ability - warr has a very well set up bike that I don't think is very standard, Terminal has a very nice fairly new Hornet - it makes a difference. If you were on a comparable bike you wouldn't be that far behind them. A couple of years riding and then youth would take pre-eminence.
Remember - no matter how fast you think you are, there will always be some one who blows you off.

I disagree.

1. I think most riders abilities are limited not by their bike but by what they tell themselves.
Riding well is the ability to weight up the risks against what is safer.
If you have never passed anyone around the outside, you are less likely to attempt it when stuck behind someone slowing you. Once you have done it and felt you did so in a safe manner to yourself and the other rider you are more prepared to for another time.
Once you have been around a track and felt how hot your tyres get and how well they stick when hot you realise that that cornering speed is only limited to the amount you want to hang off the bike.
Cornering is about looking ahead and vanishing points too.

2. I think the bike is... well cant say pretty. I think it has different torque characteristics that suits certian roads. But standard could be another word :)

I have to fully agree with you there... Since getting my knee down in the carpark last night, my ride today was way WAY better... It was ok... some guy arrived on a little GSX250 streetfighter, and just performed some amazing wheelies on it... Cops showed up at the carpark and told us "Private property, go away", and since Carver wasn't there to bribe them with sexual deviances, we just left... went down to National Bank on Victoria street, since there is "public" carparking areas there... That's just too much information for KiwiBiker... perhaps editing that post to say "Seth is a n00b" would be more appropriate?

According to The_Flux_Capacita, Campbell Live (tonight's show 29th May), showed only what can be described as:
"Us bastards what hang out at Te Rapa on Fridays!!!!!" :D

Finally, some notification. As soon as I find the link for the video (when Campbell Live post it on their website), I'll link it up on here for the world to see :)

There you go people of the earth... I give you Te Rapa Hamilton Friday Nights... My bike is the first one visible, with me standing next to it in a very nice Quasi 1-piece (that he lent to me for the trackday that I was at during this Friday)
Te Rapa Friday Night (http://www.tv3.co.nz/VideoBrowseAll/CampbellLive/tabid/367/articleID/27935/Default.aspx#video)

Here's a small pic... sorry about the quality...

Yea I did for a couple of times. I didn't really do much though other than laugh at the idiot boy racers and maybe a few laps in the parking lot (stupid little circles....) But I prefer to actually ride to be honest. Can't learn much from parkinglot.

You're getting better though. Proper riding on wednesday night and going on the lines and tips rides.

Yes we're slowly getting there... most of Friday nights now is just chatting random shit (kinda like KiwiBiker forums, but in person), and laughing at dumb boy-racers when they crash...

Stop trying to get your post count up, and get another bike... stop wasting time... you're acting like SkidMark, except he actually has a bike... he just wastes his time on KB instead of putting it back together

That would be very irresponsible. Maybe you should sell him the NXR125... maybe he could learn how to ride properly on that before being subjected to something fast... like a 250...

I used to have a bike, but I got too scared when I broke my last two, well... the first one wasn't my fault. It was a learner driver that crashed into me. But the second one, I probably could've avoided if I had been learning to ride better, cause if I had the proper line for the corner I crashed on, I would've made it around, like the other 8 or 9 bikers that were on the ride.

Maybe one day I'll get another bike, but I'm waiting to magically receive skills so I can get through any corner without crashing, and that there won't be any danger on the roads. I might think about getting a bike then, but then again, if there's no danger on the road, and I'll always be safe, I might as well just spend my money on a new car, cause then I'll be warm when its cold, and I won't get wet (even though I never ride when it's raining or too cold).

Finally, why do you think you can post so much on this forum and then not get hassled by people like me who don't have bikes?

The reason I can post this much and get away with it: I HAVE A BIKE AND I GO ON RIDES... like Friday, when I went down to Taupo and raced around on the racetrack, and Sunday, when I went on the lines ride... and then I come back here and post about all the fun I have on my bike... Oh how fun it is Bruce... you remember how fun it is don't you? Oh wait, it's been a long time since you've been on a bike... you've probably forgotten... oh well, too bad :p

Ps. The entire post, including the quotation by The_Flux_Capacita is all figments of my wild imagination/pisstake, except the part where I ride my bike and stuff... Like that Australian video that was posted the other day... Bruce: Harden The F**k Up (Yes I'm posting it now, so he can watch it and feel better about himself)
