Hot on the heels of the Benelli Tre-K 1130 (http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/Reviews/2007_Benelli_Tre-k.htm) is the Benelli Tre-K 1130 Amazonas

This I like, the frame and swing arm are typical Italian - works of art. The 125hp isn' too bad either. Nice, very nice.

If you buy a motorcycle on looks you could be in for a few disapointments....

As Chris points out,the 17in front wheel says it all - anywhere but smooth manicured seal and the only place this bike is going is down....

Showing my ignorance here.......i have had a lot of bikes in my 40 0dd years but never been into off roading at all.........whats the deal with 17 inch wheel..why is it so bad on an off road bike...?

The 21in has a bit more gyroscopic force and can keep you up and pointed in the right direction when things get a little out of control, and the ability to roll over objects easier, corrugations for example. The tyre is narrower but the contact patch bigger than you might think - it's long and narrow rather than short and fat.On gravel the narrow tyre will get down to the subsurface of the road better than a fat tyre which will just roll on top.19in is the minimum for gravel or off road, and it has to be a well set up bike to get away with it.

Never noticed the size of the front wheel. Obviously a styling decision rather than a practical one. Still a new front wheel shouldn't be too expensive.

This Benelli's more up my alley:gob:

THIS one is my current favourite....:gob:

and then of course there is this one for those that favour the full farings... :scooter:

(But of course NEITHER of these have ANYthing to do with Dual purpose or Adventure bikes which of course was the purpose of this thread...... DOH!!)

What does it need 125hp for? Id rather 100hp and an engine that lasts longer.

17" front, great

From the close-up pictures it's running Metzeler Karoos front and rear, and the smallest Karoo front is a 19"

Front and rear look the same size and the marking on the rear says 17.
