MotoMorini what? Or are they only making one bike, now that they've been resurrected?2. They have the Corsaro which is a naked sprotsbike and the 91/2 which is a Gentleman's conveyance, and is now 1200cc, not the prototype's 950cc.

We have a brand new Corsaro, and a Demo.
1200cc V-twin! 140hp at the rear! (claimed) Just sitting on these things screams out ilegal riding!

As i said, GET IN LINE YOU LOT!!

SB you have spent enough time gazing at it to get the name right? Moto Marini, was that what they called the estate version of the 1976 Morris Marina?
If we ever get dry weather I'm there for a short 3 day test ride OK. It sure did look good in black/silver

That's a bit of a dilemna for me Sparky. What if it's like man-sex? If I tried it and liked it my life would get way complicated. I'd suddenly be less satisfied with the Tuono, start sneaking out for secret rondezvous' with the Motomartini. It would be the end of a happy relationship. I'm not sure if it would be worth the stress.

Gotta love the Italian term for "rev's". Whenever I'm skimming through I think giri/min is girl/min....I can't help feeling disappointed when I realise my error.

Back to the specs, 140hp is is some serious stomp for just 8500girls, er, I mean revs.

Not particularly.

Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm

Size matters.

Some facts on the 14 cylinder version:
Total engine weight: 2300 tons (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.)
Length: 89 feet
Height: 44 feet
Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

Fuel consumption at maximum power is 0.278 lbs per hp per hour (Brake Specific Fuel Consumption). Fuel consumption at maximum economy is 0.260 lbs/hp/hour. At maximum economy the engine exceeds 50% thermal efficiency. That is, more than 50% of the energy in the fuel in converted to motion.
For comparison, most automotive and small aircraft engines have BSFC figures in the 0.40-0.60 lbs/hp/hr range and 25-30% thermal efficiency range.

Spark, Just wanting to check 'do you give out Bibs and Diapers as mandatory test riding equipment???'

I just want to make sure that I'm covered for the drool when I see it, and the shit that comes out during the test ride!

I think I have a new favourite bike

As have I.

Took the Morini out for a spin today..what can I say other than it was the most comfy bike I have ridden thus far and I loved every minute on it.
I pulled away from Motormart on the Hutt road and the first thing that went through my mind for some reason, was “have I got my safety belt on”. I then thought..what the hell, I’m not in the car. The thing is, you are very upright on the bike and with my helmet I could not even see the mirrors without looking down. It was like riding a hovering chair. It was so easy to ride, did not even have to think about how, what gear, what revs, in fact I had to keep reminding myself that I am riding.
Got on the motorway and off she went…most of the time I felt like I was just cruising, but when I looked down I found was actually racing. The breaks are also very good on this bike, but with al the engine breaking I found myself not using them as often as I do on the R1.
Going up the Haywards in 6th gear…130 at 4kRPM…at this speed the bike is real smooth, no movement in the back..like riding on air. The front was a bit jumpy as I went over bumps. It is also surprisingly quiet when you are cruising, but when you open the throttle, she sings real loud..Got up to some cars, geared it down and gave it some gas.whoo hoooooo, no no..whe heeeeeee. So much grunt, I had to hang on for dear life. Think it needs some sort of a screen when doing long trips.
Going around the Patihanui round about was fun..no part of the bike is in vision, was just me and the hover chair…so cool. I thought I could easily ride it to Auckland.
I can honestly say, that if the 999S is not that much better than the R1, then my next bike will most defiantly be the Moto Morini (the V-rod dream has faded in the Morini’s shadow) and in red ….it looks awesome.
Cheers Martin and Motomart….the bike really put a big smile on my face…Now, can I ride it to Castlepoint on your ride….pleaaaaaaaaaase?

someone want to take a photo when you go riding on it?

Sparky Bills
20th October 2006, 23:11
Sorry Andries, but im trying to steal it for that ride myself!
I know what you mean by the grunt of the thing though.

Ill be doing some figures and stuff next week, to compare the new blade and a Marini. Hmmmm choices choices... What ever should i do???

I know at least that i need to find some nice twisties for this bike! and soon!

*Cue Grandmaster Flash* "Don't push me, cos, I'm close to the edge". I've always suspected that there was more to my fascination with leather than it's fabulous skin protecting features. Has anyone else noticed Valentino's lovely eyes? He's Italian too you know. Maurice isn't Italian by any chance?

You've got nothing to worry about Sparky. Unless your hair gets all lovely and curly if you let it grow out a bit.
