Well im not a regular poster on here, but i was looking for opinions on my bike that i have just finished fixing/restoring/painting.

I brought a 05' gsx250 about 4 months ago in a sad state, but it only had 700kms on the clock (not even broken in  ). It looked average from the outside, but under all the stickers etc, the fairing were in Very Very bad shape. So i decieded to take it off the road, fix it, then repaint it.

Before it came off the road all fairings had major damage, some fairings were missing parts of the fairing, and the tank hd two large dents and about 4 small. The wiring was also a mess and basically the whole bike needed to be redone. bar the ignition system.

This is what it looked like before i took it off the road...

So the fairings were all taken off and the wiring was striped out, the wiring was all redone in the factory coloured wires to make it easy to use the manuals etc. A killswitch was added to the mix for that extra bit of saftey...

The bike was striped back to the ABS plastic, all the cracks were plastic welded at home then refiberglassed on the back for support. One new lower faring was purchased as there was too much gone. The new fairing provided spare plastic for the welding and to sculpt new parts of the front fairing that were completly missing. Bog smoothed out the plastic welds, and the bike was then primed and painted in 2K Gloss Black. Clear coat was applied and toodaaaaa......

real nice. after the weekend I am looking at repainting my bike. It has a fairly shabby matt black paint job at the moment. Looks ok in photos from a distance but real shit up close. I dont have the time to take it off the road so it will have to be a weekend project. See how it goes.

lol thanks for the comments. I definatley think it looks alot nicer now than the orig GSX colour. I didnt like either the blue or the grey.

Umm total cost including purcahse price of bike is $4500-4600

Bike: $4000
New parts: $200
Painting: $250
Prep stuff:$100ish

Opinions about stickers? Im thinking to leave it completely black and not worry about replacing the decals. I personally prefer that, but would it give me a better resale to have them possibly?

no front mudgard? is that standard on this model

very nice job man, the black certainly has more character than the grey (grey just looks tacky to me)

Any stickers are welcome, as long as they are black or see through!!!

front mudgaurd hasnt been put on yet b/c they way they are engineered you have to take off the wheel to put it on or remove it. So just havnt got around to taking the wheel off and putting it back on.
