Alright guys how did it go?

I was on my way up, as I had a mate who went up with the car club. Thought I would give him a call to see how it was up there.......rung him from the car to find out he biffed it in to the tyres outta Dunlop.....didn't bother going in the end....

That and I didn't wake up until 10am, and don't have a bike....and couldn't be arsed!

I saw the last round of bikes to go out. There was an RSV Aprillia, (very nice), a couple of new Fireblades, a few Dukes, an SV, (sounded nice) and a few others. All looked like they were having big heaps of fun. The track was dry apart from where drifters gone wrong had drag mud and shit all over the S's. Saw one of the Fireblades have a bit of a moment coming on to the home straight but it was handled well. The two guys on fireblades were pulling wheelies in sync with each other, it looked very cool.

I was there the whole day and I thought it was great, the weather was perfect for it. I came away with the title of only biker to crash but it was pretty unexciting, just ran off onto the grass and dropped it into the mud so I got away with just having to reattach my left indcator, however a shitload of mud got in the fairing so that will give me somthing to do tommorow.

Got to meet a few people from the board which was good and generally had a fun day.

Shame you didn't come up Wkid I had the old one there for ya :Pokey: Met up with WT & Linda & Hamish and the other welly guys as well as Dan from here !!
It was a great day and hopefully there were enough bikes there to ensure that we get another go at the next meet. I am now motivated to get me some gear so that I can get out myself next time too !!! A brilliant day with some excellent dicing .....really enjoyed WT scrapping it out with another Guy on a CBR ... Damn those guys are fast !!! When I get out I feel I'll be the tail dragger but I can't wait !!!

What more could we have asked for? Sun sun sun umm, and a bit cold but hey there was sun sun sun.
Good to see you finished a session upright Dan. Couldn't believe what a good job that mud did saving your bike.
The first 3 sessions we had about 20 odd bikes. Well done Whitetrash, Jimbo and Deano for adding your tired arses (as in all Pukie'd out) for support. Should be allowed back next time now.
Finally a chance to give the new Blades some head.
Spud, glad you made it see the final play session, sorry we didn't hang around to meet but it was a long way to home and about to get dark. The other Blade rider was deliberately inducing slides on to the front straight to finish off a rooted tyre. Strange but entertaining behaviour.
The marshalls seemed to appreciate the wheelies. They gave us a right round of applause as we came off (finished I mean, not crashed). First time I've really been able to hold a wheelie neck and neck with Dion like that- why didn't anyone have a camera.
Got bloody cold and dark from Waikanae to home but the most enjoyable track day in ages even if we didn't get the full track. Great value $40 for 4 sessions and the mud was no extra charge.

Spud, my mate said he saw an Officer of the Law no less aiming a laser gun, at us down the back straight on that last session. Well I hope it was a laser gun or a hair dryer. Well that'll achieve quota. "Hey Sarg I nailed a dozen bikes exceeding 150 today ,then 2 minutes later another dozen came along, bugger me they just kept coming a doz each time so hand over the toaster" "Well done Son where abouts" That circular road on the edge of Feilding Sarg."
So what's the fine. Remember if we were on one wheel you have to halve the speed reading!
Cheers

Yes, it was a very good day. We left home around 8.30am and by the time we got to P/North my feet were cold and my hands not much better (makes note to self: look into Daytona hotgrips). Had two large F/W's and a bacon/egg panini at the McCafe on Rangitikei Street and that warmed me up a bit.

Found heaps of bikes at the track - good to see. Nice to meet you Hooks and DiscoDan. Spud, sorry we didn't get to meet you. Glad to hear no-one else biffed it. Mark and Dion: your wheelstands were great!!

The weather was supberb.

We left after the second bike session as I didn't want to get cold again on the way home. A good ride back through Shannon, but once we got on SH1 the traffic was horrendous - and so many wankers who can't drive. It had started to cool down a bit coming over Paekak, but it was a very enjoyable day.

Let's hope the good turnout means the days will continue.

Wasn't me, it was my day off. I was watching from the stand near the last corner before the straight and thought your mate spun the back wheel in a wet patch near the edge of the track. It looked like it went sort of slide, grip, wobble, wheelie, most impressive.

Hey Mark ...I had mine but the bloody thing was playing up .... That guy from Wanganui ..I think his name is Jason ....He had his vid cam taped to WT's bike for a while ....taped the whole last session so if you give WT a yell he might know how to get hold of him. I know he got some great footage of you guys doing mono's :2thumbsup They were really impressive and capped of a brilliant day out ...looking forward to the next one now !!

Sorry guys, didn't make it in the end, had my wifes 30th, and was severly hung over. The guy you are referring too is Jason Hulme. Not sure where he is living, but I know his old man, I'll find out.

PS Absolutely gutted now that we did not go!(my brother has a TLS also), with the rear wheel antics, etc gutted, completely gutted......next time.

Man im glad i didnt get there, I would have looked like a right poser on my shiny k3 1000 short shifting everywhere while you guys were spinning it up and pulling monos! :o

would have been wikid to see though! I know you arent supposed to look at speedo but do you have any idea what those blades were hitting at end of the straight?

What a primo weekend. That's was a good ding dong we had on that 2nd to last session mate. Thouroughly enjoyed it. Shame about all the mud and crap everywhere though. Can't wait for the next Vic club bike only day.

Probably about 220 is my guess (having seen video footage from a camera taped onto the tank of a mate's fast Blackbird)
