i have been getting multiple emails about various long lost relatives of mine who were in a car/plane/train accident in some central african country in which them and all of their family were tragically killed. The email is normally from a "solicitor" or a "bank manager" and has details of the $x million that is being kept in a trust etc. The first one even had a link to a real train crash in the same country .... pity the dates were all screwed up :innocent:
funny at first but now they are just annoying.

I thought for a second there that this was a plea to help "our Helen" pay off her Labour Party debt.....

FROM: HELEN CLARK
PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE
PARLIAMENT BUILDING
WELLINGTON
NEW ZEALAND
I DO APOLOGIZE FOR APPROACHING YOU IN SUCH A MANNER, BUT CIRCUMSTANCES FORCED ME TO CONTACT YOU. I WAS FORMERLY A RESPECTED MEMBER OF THE NEW ZEALAND PARLIAMENT TILL MY COMMON SENSE WAS OVERCOME WITH WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS A ZEALOUS LUST FOR POWER. MY ONLY SAVING GRACE IS THAT I DON'T FACE ANYONE DESERVING THE TITLE OF OPPOSITION LEADER TO THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT.
BEFORE THE DEATH OF MY CREDIBILITY WE WERE HOARDING $11.5 B NZD (ELEVEN BILLION FIVE HUNDRED MILLION NEW ZEALAND DOLLARS) IN AN ACCOUNT WE HOPE TO BRIBE THE AVERAGE, AND LESS THAN PERFECTLY CAPABLE, NEW ZEALANDER WITH. IT IS CURRENTLY TIED UP IN INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENTS DESPITE LEGISLATION PENALISING THE AVERAGE NEW ZEALANDER WISHING TO DO THIS VERY SAME THING.
I HUMBLY NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THE “FOLLOWING WAYS”:
1) CALL 0900 HELP AUNTY HELEN AND DONATE A MINIMAL SUM OF $4,000 PER CALL FOR MY ELECTION COFFERS
2) TO SERVE AS MY GUARDIAN
3) TO KEEP PRIVATE EYES AWAY FROM MY PARTNER, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE'S MEETING HIS GAY FRIENDS.
4) TO MAKE SUITABLE ARRANGEMENT FOR ME TO REGAIN MY CREDIBILITY WHILE MAINTAINING THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN NEW ZEALAND
5) TO LOOK FOR A WAY OF PROMISING TAX CUTS TO KIWIS JUST BEFORE THE NEXT ELECTION, RENEG ON THAT PROMISE AND RECOVER THE LABOUR PARTY REPUTATION IN TIME FOR THE ELECTION BEYOND THAT.
I AM READY TO COMPENSATE YOU FOR YOUR EFFORT IN ASSISTING ME.
YOU’RE SINCERELY,
HELEN.

I got a similar letter ...yes letter (in an envelope with the correct international postage and everything) a few years ago from a guy in Nigeria quoting pretty much what has been said here. It was hand written and basically said I want to give you money, please give us your bank account details....etc etc.
What scared me is how the fuck did they get my home address, its not listed anywhere that i know of. All correspondence goes to my PO box...weird

I've been getting emails like this for over a year now. It astounds me that people would actually act on them, it's like clicking yes on every pop up window that appears on your PC, and wondering why your machine is choked with spyware.
I just had to reset up my Mozilla Thunderbid to delete any emails with .gif attachments, as the drug, and stock excahnge scam mailers are putting all their bullshit into a .gif file, to bypass the ISP's spam filters.
