Where is the best place to get them and what type. I can only find one picture on the net and it's a wooden knee slider. Anybody used wooden ones before. Now i have started getting my knee down, i get through them like tyres!

Perhaps motorcycle shops and retailers have them?

But sarcasm aside most bike apparel stores will stock them.

You can cut up the white plastic chopping boards and bolt them on to some old ones!

Been to all stores in Hamilton today. Road & Sport, Honda and Hamilton motorcycles. None of them stock them.

Shit, that's not good for Hamiltron - 'The city of the future' is it?
Maybe make a trip up to the big smoke and visit a few of our retailers here?

dude--the cheap sliders attached to most suits --they wear out like butter on a griddle as soon as you touch ya knee down.
You'll need to pay $60-100 for a decent set you can propperly load up--without wearing down to ya leather in 15 secs
--Ask Drunken monkey what i did to the set on his suit

I recommend wiz sparky's , they seem to last real well. Otherwise get the plastic/ceramic ones, straight plastic wears real fast.

I have neo ones which seem quite good, I think theyre alpinestars one's without the alpinestars logo in the middle because they have the "racing ahead" on the outside velcro bit, theyre real big and meaty so last well

go ceramic, they last longer. i have had my current set since i brought my leathers in 03 (ride faster, i know i know!!)
plastic wears out fast.
also, if you want to annoy everyone behind you and become hated, put titanuim screws in them.

Also find that once the buzz of getting your knee down wears off you start to try and keep it off the ground and lean over more and more... just using it as an indicator to how far you have started to lean, also put way less weight onto you knee so your not pushing it into the ground so much, then sliders last for ages.

...BTW Rob, I have a couple of sets of plastic type ones you can have if you like...

Can't see why you'd need to load them up unless it was to save a fall, I've used my current set for at least 4 years now and I reckon they'll last that long again

Lift your knee higher... Dont load it up because at extreme lean angles this can unload the rear tyre and cause a crash... touch it down, and use it to gauge your lean angle, then lift it off lightly....

Cheap ones, Bico knee sliders... Good ones... Wizz Knee sliders or Spidi Ceramic Sliders

the alpinestar ones a great...last for ages...

but as others have said....they last for ages if you use them as a lean angle indicator as they are intended...rather than for blow arsing about how fast you go through them...makes life cheaper too.... :)

Well just one thing about the ceramic scrapers--theyre bloody loud--like omg im crashing the bike kinda loud
I gotta say I personally prefer to load up my scraper. keep in mind everybody has a different style --I tend to like to hang right off the bike and pull it down to me

I've used Wiz and Dainese brand scrapers.

Both are nice.

Give Northern Accessories in Otahuhu Auckland a ring they stock Wiz scrapers and Spyke leathers.

Perhaps Quasi (if you don't already) you should have a small stand of your merchandise at race meetings and track days. My knee sliders are getting low and I am looking for a new set.
