Jeremy Clarkson's Times piece on Richard's accident and the aftermath.

Much like I had to learn that there is pretty much nothing that anyone types online that is worth getting worked up about, the Clarkson bashers should read that and then realise: he's one of us.

Not only is he one of "us", he's joined a select few as well!

Nice story.

Lucky bloke having something to play that doesn't need to be amplified.

After pulling the entire front end of the bike to pieces today to replace the oil in the forks and putting it all together again, there was nothing left to do but chill out and play my guitar.

Only to be outdone by a miserable $1 500ma HT fuse which had blown just as I turned the Marshall on. So no guitar today.

Luckily Gini had the answer - a brand new copy of MotoGP3 Ultimate Racing Technology she had sneakily purchased to surprise me with ...

Down to Dick Smiths in the morning. I must have my Marshall fix this weekend.

btw scored a drum kit for the smallest one Jim - one of those little 3 piece with cymbal in the bass drum kits - you'd piss yourself watching him play it - I bought some 5Bs and cut them down so they're perfect for 20 month old hands. Tim starts piano lessons soon - Jessie's already doing lessons.

The band's coming together...

Alot of people have said that Jermy is over boorish and overbearing but I don't see that. They're three 'lads' who get paid to do something the love doing. They really enjoy each others company and have an actual opinion about things. I'm sure that given the choice most of us would like that - being able to do what we love, hang out with our mates and earn a decent income from it (even if it is cars)

Bloody good article, says it all really. OSH will be the death of us - and we need accidents (not that I wanted the Hamster dead) to rid the world of stupid and boring people!

Can you imagine what our lives would be like if people hadn't pushed the boundaries? We'd all be driving nana-mobiles and being too scared of taking any risks at all.

He got well paid for what he did and it was his choice to do it. End of story.

...But of course, we have a whole industry nowadays designed to do just that. To ensure that nobody ever falls over, that nobody ever hurts themselves, that nobody ever dies. And that if someone does, then the system must have failed and a head must roll . . .

...And you will find that sort of attention to detail in its attitude to what Stephen Fry recently said were the two most dangerous words in the English language: "health and safety".

Damn right on that call, Jeremy!

What! Do you know how dangerous walking is! You could stand on something and twist your ankle or break a leg ........

I like Top Gear and Jeremy and the whole crew. They are a side of life that is sorely missing in most public life today.Trouble is, we should all be out there doing stuff, instead of sitting at home watching others do it for us.......
