I'm sure that all the Wellington bikers are aware but if you haven't ventured outside yet it's blowing a southerly gale, and raining for Africa.

SH2 between Wellington and Petone is great heading North, but there's a bit of underlying water so take care. Man I'm glad I waterproofed my overtrous and gloves, and wore my rubber over booties this morning.

Flooding all over the show today.....

...and definately feeling for the chap heading west along the Petone esplanade, on a cruiser type bike. Looked to be broken down, saw a couple of flashes from the exhaust (right side only?).

Hope ya got it going again ok, woulda stopped but I was running real late for work :)

cheers
Adam

Good god, that was nasty. Traffic was backed up all the way from the basin reserve, through the tunnel, down to evans bay, along cobham drive and down to about half way along the airport runway.

In other words about 95% of my commute this morning was done lane splitting, very gently, in rain and "fuck me" wind. The good news is I'm still alive. The bits of my hoodie that stuck out from under my jacket are drenched though.

It's a good thing my bike's out of commission for a while. That'l stop me from being tempted to ride in this. Well done to all of you who have

Interesting ride in this morning.

Hope I didn't scare too many cagers, but to give them their due, they were making lots of room down the centre for an semi-in-control bike.

It ain't often i think about turning around, but this morning I did (only cos I forgot my keys). But i didn't think long before I decided this was more fun than i can wave a stick at, so I continued ;-)

A mate of mine from Welly emailed me....he got blown across to the other lane nearly ending up in the side of a SUV.

Must be why they call it Windy Wellington.

Somebody took Mrs H's bike into WMC today for a 24,000km service. And then brought it safely home again. Somebody has experienced the delights of today's weather at both ends of the working day. Lovely.

This somebody you talk about, has Mrs H got a new toyboy that does that kind of stuff for her?

Depends on whether it's raining or not.

I was in the cage of doom this morning and gave as much room as I could to my lane splitting biker brethren. So if ya see a late model blue Galant with a personalised plate ahead, you can count on being given space.

Also on a good day spare a thought for a trapped fellow biker, who only needs 4 wheels for work.

Late November Steam.

Yep Steam will love living here. Jim is quite right. The long winter of crap wind and rain should stop late November :cold: . Recommences early December:slap:
