Trust the French to have this on their site. They are fanatical about streetbikes so this will no doubt be popular "en France".
What are your thoughts guys and gals?

looks pretty beefy, and rather aggressive. Should have some balls too assuming its got the ZX14 powerplant!

I like what has been done to it. The high exhaust is great and the 'KTM Orange' looks nice.

Nice, but the mufflers don't do it for me. Too "last year"....

Yeah quite like it. Still has the Z1000 genes.

In France there is a 100Hp limit to motorcycles. If you wan't to break the law and get the bike unrestricted fair enough. Shouldn't sell such cool bikes to the frog eating twats.

Whoar. It's gorgeous. And naked. And a Kawasaki. And my most favouritist colour. Whoar.

I don't mean to be spoil sport here but don't get too excited yet.I thought something looked familiar about that picture. I found this one of what was said to be the new Z1000. Looks like the same work to me. What do you reackon?

Nah...totally different detailing. Engine casings, exhaust, side panels, nose fairing... etc. are all different. Have another closer inspection. Personally I reckon the 14's side panels are pig ugly. Is it a half fairing or isn't it?.. and once you see it from any other angle it may look like a fat bastard and you might be disappointed. I also feel that the Z14 doesn't quite know which stable it wants to be in.
Ive been a Kawasaki man most of my riding life but I just dont think that the designers have got the nose design that has graced the new Z series quite right. Shame, otherwise I might have been tempted into a ZThou rather than jumping ship to Honda. Having said that, the CB probably satisfies my needs for long haul comfort and smoothness and "pillion friendliness" more so than the Z.

It's radical. I thought it would be a little more sports tourer oriented. The pillion accomodation is going to be tight with seat and rear footpeg placements.

Looks like all the manufactuers are starting to jump the same train. They all look very B-king concept type bikes to me.

Form over function for you then?

The Busa has one ofthe lowest CoD's of any bike.

Kawasaki has plans in store for its new 1400 platform in addition to the ZX14 (ZZR14), which includes a GTR14 (Concours) as well as this newly-announced Z1400. If you want pillion comfort, buy either the ZX14 or the GTR14. If you want bonkers fun, buy the Z1400.

Well partly...beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the Hyabusa has never floated my boat in the looks department. I don't think I'd spend money on something I didn't like the look of even if it was the fastest thing on two legs!...so to speak!

Point taken, but what I was getting at was that mock up of the Z1000 is a long way from what the finished product looks like so there is a chance that the Z1400 is a result of the same talented computer work.

I dunno if this is the real deal or not but apparently it was scanned from a brochure.
Looks rather neat IMO.

I dont really trust anything from Raptors and Rockets, but would be cool. Looks like a response to Suzuki's B-King! (yeah yeah, i've just read back through the thread)

Some mixed messages there Hitch. So, do you like it or not?

Anyway, what is the deal with front fork/mudguard area? Seems to be a bit of a dustbin lid stuck down there.

I suppose 'response' bikes (to the b-king) are OK, but prefer true originals.
(sure I ride a jellymould 'response bike' myself ... )

Wonder which version of the motor is going in it? Naked models tend to be tuned more for low down grunt etc. Looks like they've used more than just the motor too - brakes, suspension, indicators. Quite a bit of ZX14 in the front sidecovers.
