It's been awhile since I've seen/met up with/enjoyed the company of the CBD riders (sounds hardcore) so how about lunch on the oneth?
Venue; The Feathers
Time; 12:15 onwards
Date; 1st of November
Yep that's about as much needs to be sorted, I think. You're all invited.

The Black Harp has proper stout and decent food.

Can you be sure this would be a popular rebellion that you're attempting to stage?

No Irish rebellion is popular.

Yes, but the "food" isn't scraped off the bottom of the tables.

Like I said baby
If you go astray
Well then go on
Go your own sweet way
I thought you knew by now
You do just what you please
And here's to the next time
Here's to the next time

Is the next line, "Oh I feel an infraction coming on"?

Is the next line, "Oh I feel an infraction coming on"?
Give me a chance.....Give me just a little more time...
Like I said baby
If you go astray
Well then go on
Go your own sweet way
I thought you knew by now
You do just what you please
And here's to the next time
Here's to the next time
How many times
Have you gone before
And how many times
Have I forgiven you once more
Never had to wait
Like I waited for you
And here's to the next time
Here's to the next time
When you're gone
The time drags by
I wish you'd learn
Not to make me cry
To make me cry
So if you're gonna leave me
Never to come back
Break it to me gently
Or my world will crack
So be sure to let me know
That I'll never say
Here's to the next time
Here's to the next time
Here's to the next time

As amusing as this thread is - and as fun as lunch was last time - I am afraid I can't attend on the oneth. I will be in Melbourne.
On holiday.
Oh the hardship!
PS - maybe see you all next time - have fun!

Ok Colapop, Thought I would check the place out last Thursday, just to be sure  .
Still wasn't sure so went back Friday
Had this strange feeling about it today so I thought, what the hell. Checked it out again today:drinkup:
Do you see the pain and suffering I endure for the cause......

That's precisely the problem! It's too close to ride to!
How about The Bach in Island bay for the next one? Those with flexi lunches can go round the south coast those without go through town and meet there?

Just in case I do decide to come along, where the hell is "The Feathers"?... And do they have beer?
merv
31st October 2006, 12:11
Its in Featherston street a few blocks North of Arizona and they definitely have beer. Quite reasonably priced food too.
Not sure if I can make it yet but I'll see how my day pans out tomorrow.

I know, I know. Checked it out today and even tried out the park.:scooter: Still not 100% sure. Will have to give it another go tomorrow :innocent:
For some reason, when I walk in, they seem to know what I drink. Don't figure eh!

So if I manage to escape from work in time it looks like it will be at least me, Col, Hawkeye and Phoenix. Str8 will be with Gym whoever he is, Haasti's in Melbourne and Jim2 doesn't eat off the floor.
Won't cost me much for a birthday shout then. Str8 you could always stand Gym up to come and see us blokes.

OK so I was late getting there in the end but the crew that made it was Colapop, RWH, adyone, Hawkeye, Fatjim, (myself) merv and I brought Gab from our office along to let her buy the drinks. No sign of Phoenix and he was only 5 mins away.
All in all a cheap birthday, but for those that came thanks for that. The food at The Feathers is fine with me and I can't complain about the Sauv Blancs I had. Oh well back to work now.
Thanks Col for organising this.

Did you just get back to work now you slacker??!!
merv
1st November 2006, 13:23
Left the pub about 1.40 just in time for my boss to say oh he was off for a late lunch - slackers the lot of us, but then at our age you take liberties. Hey I missed you though str8 you don't stalk me like you stalk Jim2.
Then after a couple of Sauv Blancs I don't feel much like working, but then its my birthday eh!

Oh, but you said you don't have a camera, so no compromising pictures then? I try to bring one of the girls from our office to each lunch as protection just in case.
Str8 best wishes for the licence test, I'm disappearing to Aus again about that time leaving on the 14th stalking Apteryx Haasti (though actually I'm about 2 weeks behind her in both Melbourne and Brisbane) but hopefully after that I'll see you with the FZR.

Pleasant company (as usual) and bike talk. Good way to spend a lunch break. Beautiful fine morning and afternoon - pity about it pissing down between 11:30 - 1ish...
