Well i picked this up yesterday arvo, but onlt got home after dark, so today was the first chance i have had to take some pics. What can i say? I never thought i would get a suzuki, pretty much always been a yamaha/kwaka fan, but this bike is damn awesome, i love the all-roundedness of it. She is a bit dirty in the pics, i have not yet had a chance to give it a wash and polish.
Oh yeah, the black ZXR is the project bike i have been making look as new, and she is now 99% finished, just got the decals to put on and the indicators to put on!

Well, to begin with i have to get the correct licence to ride it!! However once that is out of the way, i will do a few long distance rides to learn the handling of it, and do some track days, and the plan is to get fast on it! I have only done about 25kms on it since i picked it up yesterday, and most of it was on the motorway and main roads, but the few corners i did try and go a bit quick on seemed to go well. It seems like a good bike to be able to pick up quick.

Yes, sadly i will have to move two of those faithfull horses on now. Three bikes, my cage and the wifes car are just too many vehicles, far too expensive man!

You keeping the pack rack on? Personally I think it ruins the whole look of the bike. Handy if you commute though. I commute on mine but can't get around to putting one on.

Good choice mate, get ya suspension setup to your weight and you'll be away laughing. Be good to get ya on video in the twisties sometime if you are keen.

HAHAHAHA she has let me have a worked 200sx nissan, a 1994 zxr250c, and 1992 zxr250c and a 1991 zxr250c, as well as a gsxr600...all at once...now she has called it quits...fair enough i say, need to free up some of the cash too since i got made redundant just 2 days ago.

I am thinking about it, i agree, it looks gay as, but it is practical, and the mrs lieks the idea of having something behind her when riding pillion.

Yeah man, will have to make sure i look FORWARD on straight roads from now on!
I have spent the last few weekends focusing on getting quicker on the zxr, so hopefully ican carry it over onto the gixxer. I will be playing with the suspension set up, and visiting Shaun Harris too to get the ideal set up.
I would be keen for some videoing, once i am quick enough on the 600, or you are welcome to trail me on the 250, but i think tristan would still be a tad quicker than me.

Good shit bro.

Chur.

Yeah i am undecided on which i prefer, however this is more unique...

That's looking in good condition Brett. If you are looking for practicality you can always wear a belt bag. They look just as cool as a pack rack and will fit as many speedos as you may need to carry. I've always wondered why you need to carry so many though.

Are you going to keep one of the ZXRs? For any particular reason if you are?

I'd be interested to hear any thoughts you had about other 600 bikes you tried (Kawasaki, Yamaha, etc...).

Is that an NSR wheel in your garage?

Yeah i pulled the carry pack off tonight, looks much better. Give it a wash and wax tomorrow, i dont think there are any stone chips at all!
I unfortuanately will have to sell both of the ZXR's, although if money did not have to be considered at this time of year, i would be keeping both of them! The one looks brand new and rides like it is, the other ZXR is my daily rider, and i know it inside out. I absolutley love both bikes, and the green zxr has given me so mch pleasure. So yes, to answer your question, i would LIKE to keep one of those ZXR's, because they are such fun bikes, however i will most liekly be forced to sell both of them.

Nah bro, that is a ZXR250a model wheel...i might be wrong though, is the offset the same on the NSR as it is on the ZXR??

Agreed, least yours is a black bike. I've removed the pillion pegs off mine and the pack rack can be fitted/removed in 5mins or less. I took the 2 allen keys and 10mm socket to Taupo this weekend, specifically to take the rack off at the track! Check out my new profile pic.

Dude, that bike looks so incredibly sleek!!! Since you are also an eastie, we should head out for a ride sometime...once i can legally ride the gsxr that is.

LOL I am pretty certain at this point that through the twisties i would be much much quicker on the zxr, been spending the last 2 months specifically focusing on getting faster through twisties, jumping onto a new bike, plus one that i REALLY dont want to crash, i would be slower on the gsxr...i dunno, haven't actually hit any twisties on the gsxr yet.

You will be surprised how much easyer it is to go faster on the 600. All that new modern tech sure helps.

Wot he sed.

You will now have the power to exit corners much faster than on the 250 but at first you'll be entering the corners slower coz of caution...y'know - that butt clenching quality that screams "don't scratch the shiny bits - don't scratch the shiny bits!" inside your head.

Seriously - you're a competent rider - you'll be comfortable on the Gixxer in no time....so long as you remember to look forward from time to time :killingme:

Yeah i am hoping that is the case, i waxed the bike on sunday, and it looks like a new bike... i want to shiny parts to remain!!!

Looking forward is soooo overrated, i just need to learn to ride in and OUT of ditches...that is the key:rockon:
But seriously, that has to have been on eof the STUPIDEST things i did in a while...who rolls into a ditch at like 20kph??? For some dumb reason, i spent too much of my riding time looking behind me that day...lesson learnt.
