I've just received a participant survey from the Safe As workshops, and its already sent back with a large mention about the pre-determined focus, and the lack of safe initiatives for motorcycling.

Ditto. It was interesting to get the chance to give feedback. I'd like to think that some one listened to our complaints and was reviewing the process but I don't want to waste those braincells unnecessarily.

Ditto on the above - I stuck the boot in (nicely of course) over omitting some of the issues raised at the workshop relating to motorcycle safety, in addition to lying about numbers/statistics in the draft report. (Not that I believe they will amend it)

I felt much better after a good rant too !

Is this survey invite only or can I access it somehow?

It appears to be for participants only. Nya nya nya

Although it would be a dastardly plan to post it in here so everyone on KB could put the boot in as well. :innocent:

The survey is about the running of the workshops etc, not road safety per se, and was sent to participants.

That said, hey if you want it, no problem.

Yep, same here Malcolm and it sounds like we all think the same - no punches pulled. That disqualifies us from the prize draw:yes:

Hiya Dick.
Not much of a survey. I wonder how much the long suffering taxpayer got mulcted for it.

Score one for Kiwibiker!

Has anyone else received an email like this today? That is sooooo cool, I never win anything!

Dear Geoff

Recently you sent me a completed survey as part of the See You There… Safe As! stakeholder engagement programme review. I am pleased to inform you that you are one of four survey prize draw winners.

Please let me know if you prefer: 1. a $50 music voucher, 2. a $50 Whitcoulls voucher, or 3. No preference?

Also, please provide me with a postal address and I will post the vouchers to you in the next few days.

Thank you for participating, the Ministry of Transport will be informing people about the review in the next few weeks or so and if you have any queries regarding the review, please contact Alison McDonald directly (either by telephone 04-439-9099 or by email: A.Mcdonald@transport.govt.nz).

Thanks!

Missed the actual meetings as I was overseas when the Hamilton one was held but made a pile of submissions and stuck a whole load of stuff on their Safe As website.

Hang on here folks !

I went to both the Waikato and the Whangarei workshops.....
and never received a thing.......
Well actually I got a speeding ticket on the way to Whangarei to attend that workshop.
Was that my prize......? I dont think so.
I ended up having to pay $230 to the government.

So has this survey now finished.......?
Well aint that just fine and dandy.......

*goes off to sulk*.........

Congrats to those that have won stuff already from the survey......

Well its one of those was it or wasnt it borderline speeding issues.

I had gone throu Wellsford and was heading out of town when the copper pulled me over... (2 other KBers were with me at the time) I believe that I was in the 70km area.... he says no it was still in the 50 km area.

He just wrote SH1 on the ticket... like hello that could be anywhere.
So I paid up...

Now when ever I go throu there I go so damned slow it aint funny.
I have even checked out where it happened..... I still say I was in the 70km area.

But you know who they will believe in these sorts of cases. The cops.
I was unlucky that day.

Where he stopped you was in the 70kph area, but where he pinged you was back in the 50kph. He took a while to catch you cos he had to start up, and at first he was going to do Renegade Master, but when the latter slowed down he lost interest and went after you instead.

Well fancy that, I received a similar email advising that I'd won a prize for filling in the survey.

KB'ers get 2 out of the 4 prizes? A cynic would suggest that only people who weren't specifically invited were in the draw...... I however would just say

Well done Squeak! Ironic getting a prize for being a regular exceeder of the speed limit (and not getting caught) eh? Maybe that's what it's all about - we choose our time and place :innocent:
