Cop admits radar not calibrated!!

At risk of being shot down.....here goes

I had an appointment with my accountant today, a really straight guy, drives a grunty V8, loves speed and is married to the minister of his local church....
He tells of driving early one Sunday morning (Whangaparaoa Road) and his wife pointing out the cop coming out a side road......he checks speed and continues.........rear view mirror shows the cop behind him........radar detector goes off, instant check of speed shows 53 km/ph.......and cop has lights on.......you pull over eh guys?........ :yes: :innocent:

Cop askes if he has any idea why she pulled him over?......"NO"......cos you were doing 68km/ph.....

Um no, looks over at his wife (complete with dog collar).......my wife told me you were there, I saw you and checked my speed......my radar detector went off when you checked me I was not doing 68km/ph!

I will let you off this time.......my radar has not been calibrated for a while.......watch your speed!....gets in car and drives off.....

The question was asked......"wonder if she will do the same to all she pulls up today?"......

Advice from accountant.......ask for calibration certificate if ever pulled over....save the cops the :Oops: factor in court, and you the dollars defending yourself..:done:

Obviously it was Gods fault, he made all this apparently. I have yet to see anything he did appropiately calibrated.

I though accountants all drove mitzi magna's and ford mondeos. A V8 doesnt make fiscal sense

But ministers of the cloth must have some status with the flock.... after all it's funded by the collection plate.

How much does she weigh?

Our calibration certificates are kept at the station,
(Imagine how long they would last if left in the car before they got used to wipe dipsticks/write notes on/tear into bits to jam a rattling glove-box etc.)

when i worked gdb, the cars were fitted with stalkers, however we were too busy to worry about pinging speeders in town, so we hardly ever did the tuning fork test. we therefore hardly ever wrote any tickets out for speeding - there's enough dickheads doing dumb shit in front of patrol cars without worrying about speed. sometimes (quite often actually) a gdb car could even go a whole shift without writing a ticket for anything. ironic really, when the traffic guys didn't attend crashes cause the budget didn't allow the downtime, so the general duties guys had to, as incident response was covered under that budget
