I spent today attending the advanced course in rider training, with Andrew & Lynne from Roadsafe Motorcycle Riding Techniques, from Wgtn. And it was abso-bloody-lutely brilliant!!! I attended their first course here in Nelson this time last year.. & I can say that in 15 years of riding.. this past year has been the best, in terms of my confidence in my own competence, ability & skill! We spent the morning in the classroom doing the theory, then the afternoon out on the bikes practicing what we had just learnt inside. Counter-stearing.. emergency braking.. & slowspeed control.. were the main issues covered. Andrew demonstrated first, then we got to practice, practice & practice, while Andrew & Lynne closely observed & gave us individual feedback. I came away again today feeling so much more empowered, & with more gold nuggets of information in the tool box in my brain.. & feel confident that I am 'in control' of me & my bike.. & not just a rider along for the ride. I would thoroughly recommend ANYONE doing courses like this.. no matter HOW long you have been riding.. (as you MAY have been riding 20 years unconsciously repeating some very bad habits/patterns!) At the end of the day it's all about 'riding to survive'.. & for me.. seeing the smiles on my boys faces when mummy get home from a ride.. makes every cent I paid to do the course.. worth it beyond measure! :2thumbsup

Was heavily subsidised by our local Council.. as Nelson apparantly has one of the highest accident statistics in the country.. (too many bloody OLD Sunday drivers....!!!) In Wgtn, I believe it costs about $300 to go directly through the trainers. & worth EVERY cent!!!!!!!!! :Punk:
