Saterday night, about 11pm, myself and about a dozen of my friends were having a bit of a do. Music playing, bit of drinking, basically having a good time.
Then the door opens.
Its a young male of 20ish, he is wearing a blue scarf over his mouth and he has a couple of dozen mates all also wearing the same blue scarf in a similar fashion.
"Is that us" he asks me when i ask him what he is up too....
I said "no, that is not us, Fuck off out of my house".....
he starts getting more fired up and the group enters the house further.
I turn and walk away as i can tell im about to get smacked.
I ring the police, who are there almost instantly, nice.
Half of the group gets taken away, half bolt thru propertys etc.

Now these young males live straight across the road from me.
The cops are always there.
Im a little shaken up.
im not a violent person but i feel like going out and buying a crossbow or something silly.

What would you do?

1. Get over it, pussy
2. Get a crossbow and keep it somewhere handy
3. Just hope they dont come back, ring the law if they do
4. let the dover and boomer smash them next friday night

I dont feel at ease in my own home and it sucks!
these guys seem rather dangerous to me, they have been involved in a few violent crimes around the show recently. Its fairly obvious they are on the crack.

Mate - I don't know what to tell you except to take proactive legal steps (get a trespass order and the like) so the cops and the courts see there is grounds for action if when it ever comes up.

That sucks.

Problem is that he's dumb with bog all to lose, and is obviously safer in a pack (that will get formed again at the drop of a hat if he ever sees the need). I really don't know how to deal with that except the horrible truth that force is probably the only thing he respects, and it's the one thing you're least inclined to use (if you're like me anyway).

I'd keep calling the cops, keep out of his way and watch for other/better suggestions in this thread

There is no way you should move, I would also suggest the flaming of the house, but only after you have secured all exit points, also you should be out side with the crossbow in case anything does escape.
On the other hand, you will end up in jail or watching over your shoulder all the time for their hommies after retribution. The other thing you could do, would be to go over and face them, tell them that you don't want to be fighting with neighbours and that they are not welcome without an invite, the same as everybody else, tell them you had to call the cops as they weren't listening to you, so what option did you have? They may have some sort of humanity and might leave you alone.
Or, find out which gang they are in, go and find a rival gang who wants to "beat those bros, ass down" and politely inform them where they live and if needs be, slip them some gas money.

If they are in a rental property and behave like that there is a good chance they wont last there that long - if your are patient you can out last them. Keep regular contact with the police (they may have some useful hints), and pester their landlord as suggested by others.

I've done this myself with less extreme incidents after moving in to my current home. Nerve racking but managed to let them know that I wasn't looking for a war but would call the cops if there were more problems. Ended up doing this several times. But, my guys don't sound half as fucked up as yours though. Be very careful mate, there are so many ways they could fuck your deal up. Especially if you have family or pets there as well.

There's alot of good advice here. The main thing is to keep calm and have a clear head. I've had 6 of these types of idiots approach me at a park while an as "have you ever had a hiding, MATE??". They play on fear, as they themselves are totally gutless and little more than animals.

They really have no idea how to react to someone that shows no fear, no stress, no emotion. They shit themselves wished me a happy day and went there way. Why? Simple, they're all full of shit, and need to get all worked up into a frenzy. If they were serious, you would be in hospital by now.

Same thing happenned whan I lived up north in Omaha Beach. Had an idiot and his mates walk in and start going off their nuts about a "nark" etc. I was calm, quiet spoken, and of course, had my hand on the 30cm carving knife which they couldn't see. After they left, I notified to cops, and an Army buddy who served in the Falklands. had they come back, they would have been in treal trouble - but they never did.

Keep an eye on them, everything locked up tight around the house, and stay calm. That way you'll see any trouble before it happens and be able to make the right decisions about what action to take.

Whatever plan you choose, if they enter your home again, or are about to, your first priority must be to ring the police as soon as possible.

As for the crossbow.... for self defense it wouldn't be much use. A crossbow's rate of fire is only about 5 or 6 non aimed shots per minute, so they're no good against multiple targets at all, unless you get them to stand in a line first. The bolts have almost no stopping power either, they just cut as they pass through the target, almost like a single clean stab wound. Even if you're lucky enough hit an important organ with one, the chances are too high that it isn't actually going to stop the guy lunging at you with a knife. It could be minutes before he eventually drops depending on how much P he smoked that day.
The other thing with any weapon is that you would have to be prepared to use it without hesitation, and be competent enough with it to be confident that it won't get turned on you. Retaliation with any kind of weapon could turn a beating into a killing if it all goes pear shaped.

Making a stronghold in the house could be an option you don't seem to have considered, pick a room to where you can retreat, one with a solid door (or with one that can be made solid), that can be locked fast and tight, if the room has windows, then make them hard to climb through. If nothing else it will slow them down long enough to give the cops a chance to get there. Already they would have been slowed down by the front door.... you did lock it, didn't you?
