Watching the action movie "The Punisher" last night and the action hero is chasing the bad guys on a Triumph Bonny (new-build). As he rides it like a motocrosser (not really the issue),..the noise of it dubbed over sounds like a 4-cylinder Gixxer-ish !! . Why not just put open pipes on the Trumpy ?
Does Hollywood think we are stoopid?

not as bad as watching the surfing on tv3 yesterday, everytime they did a little turn or got a barrel or something, they'd overplay this sound like someone with explosive diarrhoea taking a dump in a bucket of water, got sooo annoying after about 5 seconds

...and where do I get a bike that has 32 gears a-la Biker Boyz. They had so many upshifts in that movie.

Or the special off-road on-road tyres in MI. Racing solids to knobblies in a few cut scenes! Absolute magic! :innocent:

And another embarassing movie where a bike had problems chasing a van - uphill.

The classic film mistake - the clocks on the bike not moving when its "riding" or the reflection of it on a trailer in the side of an opposite vehicle.

Good one for that is in Top Gun where Maverick is "riding" his GPz9 down the taxiway next to a taking off F-14 (why he would be allowed to do this one wonders..) and you can see the tie-down strap out the front just under the fairing.....
Oh dear...

punisher is an awesome movie, theres no good guys, Its awesome. (being hollyword you feel some sort of empathy for the main guy though.) If it had been a touch more darker it would of been better. (and worked on the script!) I like the humour in the fighting though. That was well done.

One of my fav action movies

Well if it was shaft driven instead of thrust there is a possibility, but it would take a bit to wind it up first to get the wheel to let go.

I'm still reeling from the discovery that the "German" bike ridden by Steve McQueen in the Great escape was a Triumph 650!

Let's face it - the majority of the viewing public are not bikies - films with bikes in pander to the sensibilities of these people and not to us.

We must increase our number - persuade more people to ride bikes!

Terminator 2 anyone? When the boy (Conner?) is reving his XR (I think, 4 stroke anyway) and the sound dubbed over is a two stroke. And on top of that it doesn't even match with his throttle action.

I saw a low rent porno a bit like that....but that's another story for another day.....

Well the 1st clue was that the cylinders are vertical, unlike the BMW's and Zundapp's :)

Plus it looks like a Triumph :D

Well i must admit as i wasn't a biker back in those days i had no idea of this and it did sound cool so i guess even if it is fake most people will think its cooler with the nice 2 stroke sound anyway.

How many upshifts does the xr100 do on terminator 2? And its grown a 2 stroke engine. So often they put 2 stroke sounds to 4 stroke bikes and vice versa
