... 125cc scooters.

Pulled up at lights and I heard another two-wheeled thing pulling alongside.

So glanced over to see what it was. Policeman, in full reflective jacket, with radio on and in full kit (lid rather than hat obviously). For a moment, I thought perhaps he was riding to work, but on looking down at the scoot, it had all the Met. Police "We're here to protect you if your bank balance is big enough and you drive the right sort of car" stickers on it - and it was in that police light grey tone.

Friend of mine thinks it might be those community specials, or whatever they call them. They tend to get used for sealing off the ends of roads to keep away the gawkers while the real police do the unpleasant work.

Any other UK-based KBers (or well-informed KBers from anywhere else) spotted these or know anything about them?

Haven't seen scoots but have seen a few BMW 650GSs. Scoots and smaller bikes can get around London's gridlock pretty easily so makes sense to me.

Saw plod on a mountain bike yesterday at Canary Wharf.
