Trying to play some Age of empires online, using IP address, I get my IP and give to the mrs, but can't seem to connect, or when we do it vice-versa.
Used to be able to do it pretty good back on dail-up, is it any different on boradband?
Cheers

you need to pinhole your router; (add filters)
here for a quick example ( google ... age of empires filter router)

a computer behind a firewall (adsl box counts) can only connect to a computer that is not behind a firewall.
the reason dial up worked is beacause the modem is in your computer.
what you need to do is called "port forwarding" basically you tell the adsl box to route all incomming connections on the AoE port to your computer.
to do this you need to log into the adsl and set it up etc etc, problem is all adsl boxes are different - what isp are you with? did they give you an adsl modem? did you buy one? what brand/model is it?

Just have sex with her instead. It may not last as long as a game of AOE though.

I'm with Xtra, and it have a D-link ADSL router.
The link Boomer gave me has told me to get into the "vitrual server" section of my router set-up, and I have done that. I'm just abit stuck now.
I can't seem to find any port forwarding here.
