Yep... after having my ZZ-R written off by the nice people at AMI I am now looking for a bike to replace it. Don't have a huge amount of dosh to spend as I lost out a lot when they paid out "market value" for my bike.
Basically I will consider any 250 4 stroke twin, and I can spend up to $3000 - $3500.
I'd also consider a 2 stroke like an RG150 if it was coming from a Kiwibiker. That way I sorta know it's been looked after (or severely raped, but that's a matter of the person its coming from I guess)
If anyone has something somewhat similar to what I'm looking for, or knows of something being sold like that pleas e let me know :)

Yep - they've got as much poke as a RG150 - was gonna suggest that one meself.
I'm lucky enough to have a VTR250 and a RG150 - there's not a lot to choose between them in terms of outright speed - sensible choice.

Oh btw, bodywork on my gpx is near mint, it got dropped by the previous owner at about 5km/h in a carpark, so it's got some scratches on the right side indicator, and some *very* minor scratching on the right side exhaust and thats it, engine is perfect runner, and being the same engine as the zzr250 you'll know where everything is and what to expect reliablity wise (ie problem free) chain and sprockets are all good, about half wear, front brakes good, rear brake pads will need replaced in about 6 months - a year depending how much riding you do, just had a new front tyre put on (metzler) rear is about half worn, I'd be prepared to split the shipping costs so could get it to Auckland for you for $3200
oh forgot to mention, at 37000km (it's done nearly 41000km now) it sat in the previous owners garage for a few years and ended up seizing, so they reconditioned basically the whole bike, putting new pistons and rings in it, seat was repadded and recovered, new chain and sprockets, suspension rebuilt, so yeah this one really is a minter

Hmm, I'm very tempted.... Can you PM me with some photos?
What size/height are you? I'd be keen for the leathers too, but only if they'd fit me. If not, how much would you want for it without the leathers?
The GPX250RR is the one with the double front discs ain't it?

I'll PM you some photos maybe Friday, just I'm really busy with exams at the mo, or I could send you some photos of it from about a year ago when I bought it if you want, it's practically in the same condition
i'm 175cm tall, the pants are overall type so fit quite a wide range of heights, the jacket is fairly small and fits tight, they are fairly old, but will still do the job, but I'd take maybe $100 off the price if you didn't want them
yes, the rr (ninja) is the one with twin front disks

What size is the helmet? I'd prob take the leathers, you're almost exactly the same height as me.
