I've just decided to close for the day,got some other things to do this afternoon.so I've just totaled up the days takings, settled on the eftpos etc....and an Indian guy rolls up and wants a WoF.
''I'm just closing ''I say.
But can you fit one last one in for me.
Ok,if you pay cash I'll do it.
How much?
$40.
That's too much,it should be $25...
Why don't you just FUCK OFF!!!! I try to do you a favour, and you still complain about the bloody price.Get out of here,I'm not doing your WoF.
You can't.....
Just fucking get out of here.
Sorry,my tooth is hurting, but I'm just sooooooo sick of that attitude. And that conversation DID take place,I shouted at and abused a customer....I'm old school,no PC here.

OK been out warranting myself today. Had one car and trailer to get done - you are cheap Motu - going rate in my fair city was $45 for the car, $20 for the trailer.
Then once I got home again, out with Mrs merv's DR650 and off to get a warrant for it - $32 for that.
All passed sweet and dandy, but then I'm a fussy prick and they are all in good nick.

Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing there
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Joey tried to help me find a job
A while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me
When I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to say
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Years have passed and I keep thinking
What a fool I've been
I look back into the past and
Think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought I that could win
I guess I should have listened to my friends
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Burning bridges lost forevermore

You need a course in customer management. Possibly some anger management too.

I've got REEAAALLL close to telling a couple of highly valued customers to "please leave the premises" myself. Brother Allan actually threw a guy out yesterday and when the guy came back the cops arrested the guy for disorderly.
A couple of weeks ago we caught a guy shoplifting and trespassed him from the shop and the mall. Problem for him was that the dole office is (only just) in the mall so technically he can't come in to get the dole and now has to go over the hill to get it. He reckoned we couldn't do it but we pointed out to him that we had only just that moment done it. He was still being staunch when the cops took him away in cuffs. You have to laugh sometimes!

You should have done his warrant at cut price. And failed it on everything under the sun. Expensive stuff. Then told him the vehicle wasn't roadworthy and you couldn't allow him to drive it away, danger to the public etc. And if he tried , as a responsible citizen, you'd have no choice but to call the cops.
WTF do people try to argue about the price of stuff like that.

Good stuff Motu.
Then his car would fail and he would'nt want to pay because he never got the WOF.
The cost is for the WOF check, but a lot seem to think they dont have to pay if it does'nt pass.
And you're right, you dont have to work on his car, you dont have to do anything for anyone if its your business.
I've told a few people to fuck off and dont come back over the years after trying the nice route with them and they've all come back and apologised, which has amazed me.

Dang, thats cheap. Cost me $50 for my one last week. Don't really care though, it passed and thats the main thing.
Should have let him have it for $25 and then found 20 things wrong with it that would cost him $2k to fix.

They already know.
I wish we could go back to the good old days when the WoF price was fixed, everywhere you went they all charged the same price. These days I have to compete with idiots up the road who still do them for $20....that's an automatic fail of course, the price is just to get them in the door.No longer do we get thanked for finding a near lethal fault, only get accused of lining our pockets.

Because there are loads that do exactly that, like your idiots up the road..... Finding a good mechanic is like finding a snorkel when your over your head in shit.
