I thought the picture above was subtle enough, appears to be a plastic part you attach to your handle bar so that you can use your whole hand to modulate the throttle at a constant cruise rather than having to grip the bar....... .But I could be wrong...

That's exactly what it is. The old Transalps throttle grip is a well worn hotgrip and i had been having to hold it fairly tightly to maintain speed control but recently got one of those little thingys and am loving it. Didn't take much to get used to and now when i feel the need, i can relax my whole hand and control the throttle with the weight of my hand... or a slight push of the palm which seems to come from my shoulder and/or elbow more than wrist and definatley lets the blood back in my fingers.
I tend to think that if you have no problem with cramp then don't bother, but if you do have a cramping issue then this may be all you need.

Another option would be a cruse control, but with those i think the throttle stays open even when you take your hand away from the handlebar... or crash?

hmmm, sounds like a good idea to me. dont generally suffer from cramping, but sometimes would give anything to be able to flex those fingers on the road. a throttle lock would be suitable, but not too sure about those.

All I need is to get my heated throttle grip reglued and one of these would work a treat!

I have done a few trips with one on my XF650 & it's great for cruising.
However it does tend to get in the way in the twisties etc, when doing a lot of throttle work / braking. Depends on length of grip I guess, mine being 110mm long. So for me it would work better if I could have a clear hand width inside the Crampbuster.
Seems expensive for a bent bit of plastic but I have seen one home made from a shaped alloy strip.
Otherwise it's a great aid for relieving cramp in the throttle hand.

If it was alloy then it probably wouldn't need to be as wide as this one looks which might make it more suitable for yours.

You can twist them out of the way for more 'vigorous' riding.
Put it back for Christian motoring.

I had a cruise control setup on my ZZR11 for a little while but it was made of plastic and didn’t like the sun very much. Agree if the crusie contol is too tight on the handle grip it would stay open permanently possibly causing a crash, but I had mine set up a bit looser so if I had to wind it off I could do so.

Got the unit in Queensland for about $40 after seeing one at Phillip Island a few years ago. Aparently banned in other states (??). It consisted of a stem which went across from the mirror or brake housing mounting clamp, to a compression band which could be clamped down on the hand grip by pushing a lever. To release simply push the lever back.

Thought it a good idea at the time.....

Can u just use 2 fingers to hold the throtle in postion, you know with a flat palm? Thats what I do, and my hand never cramps up, but it does get uh regular excersize......
