Raging up the Eastern Hutt Hills.

You'd think in 30 knot winds people would give it a rest.

Fire crews converging from Wainuiomata, Petone, and Lower Hutt. It's spreading towards properties. Looks like it is on both sides of one of the fire breaks. The wind will blow it up the hill tonight, so the break isn't much help.

Bugger, I can hear fireworks raging over our side too, hope nothing gets out of control.

The photo attached shows the fire. It's about 6-7kms away by line of sight.

It flares up and down in intensity, and looks to be at least 100m long.

Looks like it is out. The bit that was threatening houses flared up, but the fire crews got that one down.
