Found these pics on the net so I guess I should acknowledge their rightful owners, but its got me thinking about how to tart mine up. Note the twin exhaust mod on pic 4. And I love the stark black with orange wheels.
What d'ya reckon guys? I'm pretty sure most of these stem from France where the froggies are more into streetfighters. Cool though eh?

Pic 4 is my choice. I am also amused by wankers who insist on hanging their expensive helmets on rearview mirrors. I mean, what's that all about?

Chachinggggggggggggg$$$$$$.
I'm scared to add up the amount we have spent on modifying our two hornets!! (Pimping our rides, adding some bling).
It's bloody fun though, but be warned, it is an addiction! I keep saying things like "I'm just going to get new handlebars and then that's it":done: , and then it's "hey honey, come and look at these awesome looking levers" etc. :bye: :bye: money!

Yeah, love the repsol orange wheels, and have considered doing the same to my Hornet...but then the black wheels look more badass.

It's hard to hold your lid while pulling your pud :tugger: ... best to put it down somewhere... or do you keep it on...?

It's not a CB13 but it's still a naked....
So, lets recap....
Black bike, check...
Polished wheels, check...
Twin pipes, check...
Yip, I'll agree the red and white ones aren't as good looking.

Awesome steed RD.. Love the splashes of red too. Was hooked on the big zed myself, but the CB won in the big softee stakes. And the price stakes too!

I like the first faired red & white one. Reminds me of the first model CB1100R of 1981.

Had a 1300 for a while and loved it. Did heaps of mods to it including Ohlins shocks, revalved forks, acrapovic full exhaust system and power commander. It was fast !!!!!. Stock headers look really ugly IMO. The Acrapovic was a work of art in comparison. Removed it from the bike when I traded it and I believe it is up for sale somewhere together with the ready mapped power commander. Let me know if you are interested and I will help you track it down.
Much as I loved the 1300, my current naked is extra special. Love doesnt begin to describe how I feel about this beastie!!!!

blueblade,
I am looking at the same setup for a CB1300S, would be keen on your Acrapovic. Is it Ti skinned or Carbon skinned?
And care to tell me the good / bad and short comings you find? Even with the Ohlins and revalved forks?
Cheers

Hi Zapf. You may recall we did a ride round the Coro loop together once. Mr mate was on a 929 Fireblade. That was before I started modifying the 1300. Originally bought it to slow myself down but soon gave up on that idea so began a quest to turn it into a sportsbike.
The suspension changes greatly helped the handling and the Ohlins rear shocks enabled me to jack up the rear and gain more ground clearance. Another change that I would highly recommend was braided lines for the front brakes. Much more solid feel and confidence.
Ultimately got really keen on track days and although the bike was heaps of fun, and kept plenty of sportsbike riders honest, the weight and ground clearance were always limiting factors. As I got faster the bikes limitations became a bit frustrating, mainly on the track, hence the switch to the Tuono. I still rate the 1300 very highly and think it is a great road bike.
The Acrapovic was titanium. If you are interested, contact Greg Boyd at Boyd Honda. I think he still has it, together with custom mapped power commander and the dyno chart. Cant remember the exact figure but it was over 120hp at rear wheel. It was fast !!!!!!

Ah thanks :) I don't do much track riding and mainly road only. So guess that won't be much of an issue. I like the wide bars and etc e.g my 900 Hornet. But the lack of reasonable screen is a problem. So hence I am digging the CB1300S.
Have you done any touring type rides on your CB? and if so what luggage tips / solutions have you found? I am looking at getting some custom pannier / topbox racks to fit the givi boxes made.
What happened to the Ohlins rear shocks?
Also is the current exhaust system / PFC theirs or yours? And any idea how much will it go for?
Thanks

Didnt really do any touring on the 1300. Just the odd overnighter to Taupo/Manfield for track days. Just used the normal Ventura pack rack system. Greg Boyd fitted the suspension to one of his bikes which has since been sold. He bought the exhaust system off me as a package deal so not too sure what he would want for it (if he still has it). Think it might have been on trade me a while back. You could try a search there.

Here is a pic of the exhaust system. Think you will agree it is a much cleaner look than the standard set up.
