I was just looking in google search engine for "honda 2007 motorcycles" when I found this more than awesome looking beast which they say is the new VTR replacement, now a 1200cc update with more of the mod cons (which it badly needs). It will make the VTR a much better looker and hopefully a performer too...

To be honest, it looks like it has been made up of surplus CBR1000 bits 'n' pieces but hey, it looks freakin awesome. I phoned Blue Wing Honda and they seemed surprised that I even knew of it, claiming that no such bike is on the cards, but that may be so they can sell of the remainder of the VTR1000's before they let this beast loose on the world. As a matter of fact, he couldn't end the conversation quickly enough, as if he was "caught out"...

If you haven't yet seen the pic, try here...

It would be a cool bike, but it looks like a PS (PhotoShop) to me as well.

Just a merge between a fireblade and a firestorm.

Yeah, it is.
They've just taken the VTR motor and a couple of other bits, and bunged some CBRRRR bits on it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Honda just dumps the VTR altogether. There's also a posibility that the VFR could be dumped too, given that the last 'update' was almost entirely cosmetic, even though a major model revision was due.

Nice looking bike, looks more inline with the rest of the mainstream Jap bikes, and has a nice line to it.

Does Look very cool, and the person who photoshopped it needs a award if they did the design!!

You and me too brother.

I currently have a 2006 VTR1000 and I have done a bit to it to get it to perform (without adding pipes/jets), yet retain a stock standard look to it. It's just turned over 3000 kms and is really starting to loosen up and finally I am getting some of that V-Twin power everyone talks about, whereas up until about 1000kms, I was almost ready to get rid of it because it didn't appear to have any grunt at all, but after it hit 2000kms it started to actually throw out some good usable low down power. Changing fork oil and getting a good match between the front and rear suspension have almost totally gotten rid of its previous mid corner bad manners. Braided lines have helped the front brakes beyond words. Adding a bellypan has visually made the bike look way more aggressive and more complete. The tyres are still the stock Dunlops, which are really surprising me as the bike seems to love being leaned right over to the edge of the tread. I was set to get some Metzelers M3's but as yet the Dunlops feel great so I will keep them until they are about half worn...

Ridden properly, the VTR1000 is a real good bike to use on the road and is absolutely perfect for hopping from one car to the next in traffic without having to chop and change gear every time... Through the hills, as with most other bikes, it is limited more or less by the riders ability, as cubic capapcity and horsepower become totally irrelevant once the road develops twists and turns. The VTR1000 loves being leaned over and with a good suspension setup (which most riders only "think" they know to set up) it can be tamed and well handled. I went past a 1000cc 4 cyl hyperbike in the hills the other day as if it was standing still simply because I dared where he didn't. Of course, he went flying right past me on the straights because he could and I couldn't...

Yet,, I would trade my bike on a VTR1200F at the drop of a hat "IF" what I saw was actually real...

yeah, I've happened across that site a few times, they often have mockups and pre-release stab-in-the-dark-with-photoshop pics, they do actually have some real-scoop shots occasionally too tho, like the 800cc GP bikes before they were as public as they are now

Its only an artists mock up. This is from their website!

If there is one bike that has been neglected for years in Hondas line up it is the VTR1000F Firestorm. Honda has been reluctant to develop its V-twin engine in the past but now they have to due to Euro 3. We know that a new XL1000V (or 1200…) Varadero is coming this autumn with a more powerful version of the VTR1000F engine. Perhaps with so many changes that it in effect is a new engine. At the same it is expected that the Firestorm will get its first major update and fresh design since 1996! Firestorm was launched as the first Japanese sports twin to rival the now iconic Ducati 916. We do not know whether Honda has opted for a large bore engine yet, but strategically it would have made sense if the new Firestorm became a 1200 to make it stand more out in a range that might contain two in-line four half faired 1000s next year (CBF1000 and CB1000F Hornet). Our artists impression shows a very sporty Firestorm with parts taken from the firms CBR1000RR Fireblade. With a new grunty 1200cc V-twin the bike needs a new chassis that will have been developed only for this bike. TS/CG: Xavier Gordillo & Luc1

It will be interesting to see if anything comes from this, but at this stage there is no 2007 Firestorm.

This was another bike rumoured to be coming out, the FMX1000, a 1000cc vee twin supermotard styled bike. Looked pretty good, too!

Looks boring.

I know its the way they do it these days, but i think each model should look different as opposed to just putting a Fireblade or Firestorm sticker on it and swapping the engine...

To answer the question... it is definitely a photoshop job as per text next to the pic on the web-link: "Our artists impression shows a very sporty Firestorm with parts taken from the firms CBR1000RR Fireblade".
