Camping in the pits whoaa!

RG50s did 108 (indicated 118) on the flat with ideal conditions with a largeass like me on it on the road std bog stock with all of 5 & a bit hp. 110 with a whippet is well easy.

Finally Got my cb125t running sweet, with a 5th place at the Mt Welly 2 hr this weekend.

Looking forward to Taupo, sending off my registration today. I spoke to Chris Lawrence this morning. He has only 2 registrations so far and wants a min of 10 by 10th December. So if you're keen get your registrations in soon. We need numbers to ensure the class runs. :Punk:

you stupid boy.... should have said "yer i got one"... lol

i found out this weekend at the bucket 2hr.... that we had the gearing all wrong for the taupo track...i thought we used the 15 tooth front sprocket... to find that we only had the 13 tooth on... when i took the rg out, down the straight i was topping out by the old start finish line.... then i thought i had better back off... didn't want to over rev the poor weee thing.. so i think it would have gone a LOT faster.... grrrr.

Sorry mate, the pic shows me riding the demo bike (89) some time ago. I was riding number 7, not 89. by the way I did see the the young fella taken off at hells corner by two front runners which was unnecessary. Consider that there were two riders per bike, I'm certain I never took anybody out,

Hope Luke's ok and sticks with it.

bugger so i cannot blame you....:done:
i only saw him lying on the track on the first crash... hahaha
then the second one on the SAME corner i managed to watch!!! i was impressed! he did it under POWER!!!! (YES UNDER POWER!!)

he was out there about 10min later... pissed me off, as i wanted to stay out longer... the second time it took a bit longer.. then he came in after about 15min saying he was stuffed..... what are kids made of nower days?

fallofalot
13th November 2006, 21:03
Yeah, I felt a bit sorry for the young fella he was doing ok. I was in the pits when I saw him standing on the side of the track the second time. Don't know what happened tho'. Is he still keen to race ??

Was that you with the GT 125 twin, I spoke to a couple of times. First time I've seen one of those at Mt Welly. Seemed to handle the track quite well.

all i can say is that he is pissed off that he will be in nelson for the dec. meet... he wants to know when the next one is, so he can kick ya butt!... oh and catch up with his 2 new girlfriends ( yes 2!!:Punk: )

yer it was my 125, but as i spoke to MOST of the people at the track i cannot remember all the faces sorry,
why didn't we use the 125?...
luke had not have any time on it, he has used it in the past, but never realy liked the set up ( girly woos) and i enjoyed riding his bike... but the power of mine would have had us in the top......... 10, but then again i would have been the one who fell off the most... lol there is no ground clearence on the right hand side.....i would like to ask the person who wrote in the rule book that we need rear brakes.......WHY?????
it would give me an extra 10mm!!! and at my speed i need all the help i can get..
but yes it did like the track.... two wheel drift around the top right hander ( after the hair pin)... man the tyres i have a good!!!

18th December 2006, 16:01
I just found out today from the organisers that there are spaces left for racing on Sunday, I was looking at racing Clubman but i am unable to get my hands on an extra fat person size leather jacket b4 the end of the year.

I was told that i would be able to ride on the saturday using my leather pants and cordua Jacket so long as my jacket ziped all the way around my pants not just at the back. You still need to fill in the form and get it back to them ASAP, no MNZ licence needed for Saturday & on the form under class put "road rider" and pay on the day.

See you guys down there ........

F5 Dave
22nd December 2006, 09:05
Cool, I'm limited on gearing so not sure if I will be ok, wonder what top speed I would expect to pull, I have an enormous 51 on the back.

having said that is the short new part only, but I've never seen it.

I dunno, would a RG150 get to 140kph? in that new area (being that I will be on less powerful bike but lighter, actually bike & rider combo about the same I guess. . . sigh).

Cor blimey, i didnt see buckets on the entry form, you mean we have to sit around waiting for them to complete what 6 whole laps? Think im gonna take a book, heh heh ;)

But seriously is anyone else going? seems like the posts here are dominated by the bucket/125 peeps. I entered my standard, old, beat up and worn out 1994 cbr600 in clubmans. I know theres at least one vfr400 going to be in clubmans but im hoping for some other 600`s or bigger for a challange. This will be my last clubmans race ever. After this i have to either go f2 and get my arse handed to me, or get a compeditive bike and go f2 with a vengence, or turn my old cbr back into a road bike and settle down, but i cant see that last one happening.

Just thought id point out, there does appear to be a $10 entry fee for spectators on the sunday, who turn up after.. 8:30am i think it said. And i do hope they have a place for camping, because the pit area and parking lot is all tar seal, not the best place to set up a tent. Also people that didnt pre enter dont qualify for the spot prizes according the entry form.

still nearly 7 days away and im getting nervous already. Merry racing and a happy new racing year to every one!

Does anyone know if there is any power available at the track for tyre warmers, compressors etc?
Cheers

Cor blimey, i didnt see buckets on the entry form, you mean we have to sit around waiting for them to complete what 6 whole laps? I entered my standard, old, beat up and worn out 1994 cbr600 in clubmans.
You can race with us. Just don't get in our way eh. ;)

"After this i have to either go f2 and get my arse handed to me"

What Skunk said.

You won't have to wait till "after" to have your arse handed to you. F5 has the option of riding my bucket. That should sort out the "arse-handing" business on the day.

And the buckets will still probably kick your arse :bleh:

The new short track is a good fast bucket track, even better than Ruapuna B track

No idea but I wouldn't plan on it. Take your own generator if you can.

D'oh!

I had my first crash on the 125 today.

I was going for the mad dash trying to set a shit hot lap.... pinned under the fairings trying to get each little last amount of speed down the straights...

Man it was awesome.... Ringing the neck outta this thing....

I was trying really really hard to get my knee down (wank wank) but couldnt do it.....

On the final lap, last turn, i did the biggest attempt to get my knee down. OMG i did it.... damn im cool.... then all of a sudden the bike just fell out from under me.... Whoosh..gone.. on my arse..

Damaged the tail fairing and generally fucked me off..

That'll teach me for racing on the paddoc stand :p
