Yep, great trip report, loved the bit about the fire and following issues.

Not read the post, but saw a guy on one do the RN 1000 miler this year!
quite a feat, considering the tank range is a tad on the low side...

Click on the supplied link then in the search box at the left put in "XT500" and enter. The story should be at the top of the page, it is called "RIDING FROM DARWIN TO SYDNEY, XT500-STYLE"

well that was well worth the read,,..........just goes to show how little someone can forget where hot exhaust fumes must come out, and not put things in its way ,,,,,,,,bloody awesome
