I'm interested in getting opinions on peoples thoughts and views on these bikes, even other options out there in the market. I'm looking for a really good value for money cruiser, reliable, a pretty much bullet proof!
My partner is looking at an upgrade from her Ginny, and likes the VS750. I noticed the Shadow over the weekend. Which looks as though its a similar style machine. However I suspect thats only skin deep.
Also if you are thinking of selling something, live rather local, give me a PM. I would like to look at all options.

I like the VT750 Shadow myself having just purchased one two weeks ago. Awesome weight for a little person, lots of pep, lovely low seat for short legs (he he). I have the pearl white paint job, and its an looker, even the old geezers stop and listen to her going past.

They both have a single disk up front and a rear drum.
Is it enough braking power for a 750 Shazz?

2006/2007 Suzuki Boulevard M50 (800cc) a few of you lot on here seem to buy bikes so that other people will look at you riding it. Personally I bought the bikes for me.

For a bit more cash than someone looking at buying a Shadow or Intruder would be willing to spend in my opinion.
Some buy bikes on price aswell you know.:innocent:

Sounds like my partner isn't the only one who likes a low seat. From the looks of things people know about the shadow, but nothing on the Intruder.
Thats interesting.... I suppose the intruders just are that bit too old.

Brother-in-Law had 750 Intruder and loved it. I rode it and liked it a lot! I'm sure Warkworth M/cycles has a new 800 version on the floor at the mo. Not the M50. Having said that, everyone who's had or got the Shadow reckons they're the "bees knees", (wonder where that saying came from?).

Oi, Oi!!!! I wuz born der! My son wuz born der and da Dr. who attended my birth attended the birth o' my eldest daughter, too!
I saw ol' Doc Andrew the other day, wuz amazed he waz still alive! His car wuz a bit battered though, so he's a typical "aged driver"!:third:
Not happy they tore down da old Maternity Hosp. though. THe new one's good, as my eldest transferred there from North Shore Hosp. when our grandson was born and they were real nice.

I have owned a couple of intruders, loved them, super reliable and handle better than you would expect. Personally found them better than the shadow by a noticeable amount.
Good luck

In what ways have you found them better?

I found the Intruder has better ground clearance and handling then the Shadow, and also seemed to have slightly better performance in an all round sense. Obviously performance is a relative term when talking cruisers! lol
As for reliability, with only basic maintenance and servicing both went without missing a beat for over 2 years each.
I have also noticed that parts for Honda seem to be kinda pricey compared to others.

I have ridden both bikes and despite being a honda person, In this instance i would go with the suzuki. The newer ones i believe are 800cc. I liked the simplistic styling of the suzuki, Shaft drive is a boon(as long as there is nothing wrong with it). Low seat height. Infact iam trying to get my mrs one but she keeps insisting on a Triumph. Comingh back to your question i guess you could'nt go wrong with either of them. Though the VS700 is cheap as chips to buy(2,500 to 4,000 would be a fair price to pay depending on condition)

Hi, recently brought a VT750 myself. I must admit that it is not cbr1100 Blackbird but hey ya cant have everything aye. I sold a Bird and got the Shadow so I could save some points on the license before I lost them all. I am starting to enjoy the Shadow now the weather is more predictable. Only problem I can say I have is occassionally I lock the back wheel when changing down to fast, I guess a shaftie will do that. Otherwise it is a sweet ride, even on the Rimutaka's:rockon:

I'm much in the same boat, thinking ahead when I get my in 2007. I'm near 6ft [183cm] and sat very low on the Shadow and with its pegs that little bit forward, my initial feeling was not too good. I sat on the S50 Boulevard and the pegs are not as far forward, a little further forward than the GN of course, and must say this suited me better I think. Will go for a demo ride for sure.
Are all the Boulevard bikes made in Japan, please don't tell me some are from China?
