My friend already has one of these with 75,00kms, but wants me to finance him buying this one

Took it on a test run last night, and all seems ok except for a few missing faring bolts and screws, a few dents and scratches, a shit new back tyre, and slightly malaligned steering handles.

I'm a bit cautious on the changed plates bit though. ? Stolen goods somehere along the way? And why so many owners? And change of colour?

Feedback would be welcome.

All in all I have a very reliable bike. Has a new back tyre, new bottom fairing, new coil and spark plugs, all of which I have receipts for. Bike has a few scratches and a small dent in the tank as you will see in pics. But is in pretty good condition for it's age.
Bike is registered until the 21/02/2007 and is warranted until the 12/01/2007.
Reason for selling, I'm looking for a bigger bike.

ALERT DEFINITIONS

1 The vehicle has been de-registered in the past and then registered again. Possible reasons for this situation are: The vehicle may have been in an accident and written off by an insurance company. The vehicle's registration may have expired because the license lapsed. Motor vehicles can only remain unlicensed for 12 months. It is recommended that prior to purchase you get a vehicle inspection.

2 The registration plates (number plates) have changed in the past. LemonCheck runs all past plates associated with your enquiry searching for adverse data and alerts you of this data. It is important that you carefully compare the various pieces of information within your LemonCheck report against the car for discrepancies as the registration plates (number plates) may have been swapped onto a similar make, model, or colour car that is stolen or unsafe.

Your friend wants you to finance him??, whats wrong with a bank?, i'd hate to see your well earned savings go down the loo. Can you get in touch with previous owners to see why they sold the bike?, if you are worried about it being stolen, just ask the cops to check it out. Theres other bikes coming along all the time.

Banks want 14.5 minimum, I can do 10.5 tax free. How do you get an accurate cop report if it has never been reported stolen, as in bro's not dobbing each other in, and innocent parties being a part of the ongoing process??

plate change could be from the old plate dropping off bike and been unfound, but as its your mate that is going to be the owner, its your choice on supplying him the dosh, remember if anything goes wrong, with him or bike, will he still be a mate, or a prick, but as with a loan, i do hope that you have a very clear understanding of payment.

Have to say that bike sounds honest and is probably fine. Don't be concerned about plate changes/number of owners - there can be all sorts of reasons for that. However - from experience it is not a good idea to finance a friend. If you must, put the bike in your name and don't let your friend have it until s/he has paid you back.

I'm fine with the loan bit - done it before and never been let down, ( security over bike) just don't want an historic "theft" thingee to bounce up and hit me in the face.
