Hey,
Thinking of upgrading the misses RGV150 to a ZZR250 or something simular as she is now starting to do longer trips out of Auckland and stuff and wants something more suited to it.
Details are:
2001 Suzuki RGV150, Approx 22,000km, paint job is a bit crappy due to the prev owner not liking the pink and painting it blue with a spray can...
Only problem is 1 of the manifold bolts is missing (didn't notice when I bought the bike, needs the thread retapped and a new bolt put in, rides fine with out it and doesn't leak so never bothered to sort it out.)
I wouldn't have a clue what to ask for it, anyone got any ideas? (or want to swap a ZZR250 plus cash???)
Just wondering before I advertise it as if its going to cost to much we will have to wait a while as we are saving for wedding etc.
Cheers for the help. :scooter:

You do realise, in three weeks after getting the ZZR250 your missus would want a faster bike right??? (or even go back to the RGV since the ZZR is so slow....) I used to have a ZZR250 and it was good as a beginner's bike... comfortable and pretty good for touring... BUT.... if she's been riding RGV150.. she'll be missing the speed and acceleration......
ZZR250 revs really slow, the engine feels like it's got a 2 tonne crank on it and it generally goes slow too... oh and it's really heavy too... (compared to my cbr250) and sucks at U turns (the wheels don't move either way much).
Besides that it's a great bike.!

Yeah, she is not a speed demon at all aye, she just wants something that doesn't get blown around so much at 100km/h and doesn't want a sports bike.
Would love to get her a Bandit or something simular but they are just to pricy for us at the moment.
Might look at the GPX250's as well as I see them around and under the $2k mark.
I'm guessing around $1200 for the RGV, but not sure.

Yeah, guess I should stop being lazy and go do that :innocent:
Just don't know how much will get knocked off the price due to paint and the missing bolt.

Hmmm... I have to tell you then... the ZZR250 got blown around in wind more than my fxr150 or this cbr250... I think perhaps because of all the fairing???
Who knows...

errm, I think you'll find the zzr are alot faster than the rgv150. The rgv150 is an aircooled 2 stroke and i think it puts out about 20hp. the rg150 is a water cooled 2 stroke and is ment to put out 35hp or 30hp. Anyway to get back to the point it would be worth between $1000-$2000 depending on the sucker who bought it.
