Hi guys,

I'm putting in an order to for some MotoGP gear from gpgear.com (http://www.gpgear.com)

They charge the same for freight (55 pounds) regardless of whether you order 1 item or 20, so I'm happy to split the freight / combine orders with anyone else that wants some of their gear.

The order is going in early next week, if you have the cash and want something then let me know, (if not then don't waste my fckin time).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aprox Pricing example

>>>> MotoGP Tyre Warmers $495 INC GST ($620 INC GST if you brought them on your own, save $125)

Yes the government will charge GST, and yes I will provide a GST receipt, and if it blows up you're responsible for organising warranty and shipping with gpgear.com (http://www.gpgear.com) not me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not your personal spreadsheet so heres how to work out an approximate price.

Take Web Site Price (Includes VAT of 17.5%) and divide by 1.175 (removes VAT), add 20 for freight (aprox, more orders mean less freight), multiply by 3.24 (converts from GBP to NZD and adds GST).

E.g. for Tire warmers, (159.45 / 1.175 + 20) * 3.24 = $504.48 NZ INC GST

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, if you have the cash now (not in 2 weeks time when you get paid), and you want something then PM me and I'll add your name / order to the list.

Well........ I already have the Tire Warmers, (they come in red ya know :D) but I thought I'd do my Xmas shopping early, so its a set of front & rear paddock stands for me, (and perhaps a carbon tank protector).

are you so fuckin sad that you have to get stuff with MotoGp written on it imported from the UK when you can get equally good quality gear in NZ?

You're ordering paddock stands and a "tank protector" from the UK and paying 150 bucks shipping on them?

BTW it wont protect your tank when you drop your bike off a ute.

Also, if you are buying from the UK for export, there is no VAT Content if you are dealing with a good company

As always, I value your input. Actually I'm getting the gear because it's what I want to do, and I thought, might as well post it on KB, if someone else was looking at MotoGP gear then it'd save them a few bob on freight combining it with mine.

Yep I know you can, personally I like the look of their stands, and the ones on this site don't seem to fit on bikes like mine. Oh and if you want postie's tire warmers the thread is http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=35510 I think there might be one set left. As for the price, sure there are cheaper alternatives that are more than likely just as good, but its not always about price. Kinda live buying stainless appliances, they cost more and have no real benefit, but you can see your reflection when making a morning pot of tea :bleh:

That's the / 1.175 bit :msn-wink:

in other words pure wank factor cos you're the man?

you should get one of those paddock chairs to sit and look cool in as you charge yourself out at $80/hr.

If you say so, but the fact that I can but these online and I know they will fit, rather than spending a Sunday trolling round bike stores, when I could be doing something more constructive like invoicing .

I already have a suit for that, but thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it :devil2:

Can you get me some off these (http://www.gpgear.com/acatalog/Boxer_Shorts.html)?

In large.

I think they'll look really sexy and make me go shitloads faster. I wonder if Rossi and Hayden wear them?

Well, if Rossi wears them, then don't buy them. Haven't you seen how he has to adjust his undies several times before each race?

Come on Dover, you can never pay too much for your gear.

It really doesn't matter if your leathers rip to pieces on the first bin, so long as they cost heaps.

If you're referring to my power ranger suit it actually cost me less than 900 bucks, cheap as fuck compared to what I could get in NZ at the time.

and I was told by the person that repaired it that the stitching and leather was of a better quality than what I could have bought.

The shit that snipped wants to get is available in NZ at a lower cost and probably better quality.

Fuck, I'm not even a kiwi, why should I give a shit about kiwi businesses?

Um, no not you, I was referring to a certain $3,000.00 set of imported leathers that performed similarly.

Actually they were $2000 landed, closer to 3k when you add the back protector, gloves, t-shirts and keyring :D

But more importantly they match the bike :devil2:

Buying overseas is fun... I love my credit card. The net opens up a world of goodness. Would be nice if more Kiwi business had better online shops, I would much rather pay someone here. I just spent about $700 on air freight and tax... that would be better lining a locals pockets, but some stuff you can either not get, or worse, not find (untill it's too late and you've dropped your wad).
