Am I the only one or has anyone else experienced this? You go out for a ride on a fine day with your mate and just for fun you hit the Rimutakas for the sheer joy of it - swift but not racing. Then some plonker in a car chooses to proove that he can foot it with a car to show just you how quick he is, so he tailgates you.

The last time this happened to me I was on a restricted licence, i.e. all but a learner, but because I had a sport bike then that dick assumed I wanted a race - actually I was commuting at 7 a.m! I let him go.

Today I put a couple of vehicles between us for my own safety and pulled over at the top to let him go.

Well ya did the right thing, i do the same, never let it get to me, just do what you did....we have the upper on cages at time's when it comes to passing.

Buying an inside straight, royal flush, full house, three of a kind, pair, or high card....throw your hand in, pull over and let him/her pass. You did the right thing.

your the bigger man for letting him pass, cages are too big and clumsy ive had several instances where a cage thinks there fast and racing me when they almost swerve into me for some stupid reason.best to let them go race another cage.

Happend to me a couple of times. I ride the hill quick but not what I'd call fast, then you get some dick in a Subaru or whatever thinking you want to race him.

Worst one I had the Missus on the back going to the Martinborough fair just taking it easy. So I pulled over to let him go, then he slowed me up on the downhill so I passed him again.

Few years ago when I owned a GSXR1100 L and my mate had a GSXR750 we took our gf over the Kaimais for lunch at Tauranga. Just after racing through scotsman valley we headed over to Matamata and then started up the Kaimais.

I remember overtaking a black car at the bottom of the Kaimais and didn't think anything of it just another cage. I was wrong.

Turn out said cage driver didn't like to be overtaken by 2 bikes and at the top just as i was pulling in to the race line on a left hander noticed same black car in mirror racing up inside attempting to ram me. Hauled arse out of the way to let the bastard undertake me and then the prick tried to do the same to my mate in front. Fortunately mate seen what had happened and let him go.

Caught up to the bastard a little later on stuck in traffic. Girlfriend very quick to give the big middle finger.

Went out for a spin last night and the rain came down heavily while I was in a twisty bit..made me ease off..ended up with a car pretty close behind me..wasn't going to push it in the dark and the rain, pulled into a driveway, let him pass and then the rain stopped! All of a sudden I was stuck behind the cage with dry roads (the rain hadn't got that far yet) so sometime ye canna win.

Go riding waaaay out in west auckland... the whole lot are mad men, even in the 50k zones, had cars come round corners mostly on my side, mates have had it, a mate who lives out that way had it done to him, and ended up going off the road...

hey that reminds me of a lil story when me and my friend went for a drive, we drove to the gas station and parked up. she went inside to buy something, and came back. meanwhile i had one of those balloons (the balloons that go into the shape of a long sausage when you blow them up) on this lil pump, i looked at my mate and said "hey watch this" i started pumping this balloon up until it was right near her face and thenBANG!!!!!hehe the balloon popped in her face. hmm all this while the gas station guy was watching through the window haha i think he thought i was wanking or something LOL

so yeah back on topic that guys are real dickhead same thing happened to me when i had my lil 250cc coming back from warkworth with jonny, some guy in a skyline decided to be a cunt and overtake me and then he let the harley through and then blocked my way. i cant wait to head out there again.

Only time I've had that happen was on the 'Takas on the Featherston side going down, last year. 2 fat cats in a Commer door V8 HSV thingy, right up my arse for most of the way down.
Cars can do it in the tight twisties, but the second the road starts to open up a fraction......think he held with me for about 100m...........:whistle:

Had a guy race me in his Honda it did well up to 200ks then it started ,bang bang , governor thig starts working ,didn`t pass him got caught behind a truck , could see his half brained girlfriend laughing like a hyena , that was up untill I gave them a little wave at 110ks lane splitting (guess I had the last laugh ) never did see the the honda again. A few miles further on I had pulled in to the same service area as him.
As he was reversing his car into a tight space, I walked past his car and shouted "Wo!" Naturally his immediate reaction was to slam his brakes on and look to see if he was about to hit anything. At that point I sang in a loud voice, "...I'm going to Barbados..." and carried on walking.

On my way back from a very quick trip in to town I had one of our fast friends trying to ram me up the bum, and with no where to go I created space in front. Just before the brow of the hill i gave him the opportunity to pass by moving over and buttoning off... he hit is go button, hard. I smiled, the cop was still where i noticed him 5 mins before.
