If you were, did you notice someone on the side of the road with a camera?
If you did, that was me and I may have some photos of you.
This is a sample, there are about 58 bikes photographed between 3.00 and 4.30 on the Wellington side, with most bikes photographed a few times in a series.
Click here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=392) to view the gallery that shows an example of each bike I got photos of.
If your bike is there and you would like the high res photos send me a PM.

Hey that was a mean trick. So many cops on the road, then we see someone in a grey car aiming what could be a camera ...or could be a...? Made a lot of us back off the gas anyway. Probably did the environment a lot of good. I thought it might have been another of those Police centreline blitzes!
I'll PM you for a few snaps
Cheers

And easy tear demin riding pants with matching soft shoes ready to fly off at first bump! All those Plods cars, doubt he made it over and back without being stopped.

I'm torn. Darwin liked these two:

But I personally like the MV being given some enthusiasm...

Kendog, don't know whether I may start something here, but do you have video camera?
This week I did a post about motorcycle training video over in the survival skills section;
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=39058
What would be the reaction out there [all of you] if we had a Sunday evening post of several videos on 'Youtube' of up/down the Rimatukas?
I am thinking longer term if we could build up some serious and logical sequence videos we could get them into a stickie.
Just a thought
Heads Up and Enjoy

Didn't think of that before I started. One bike did do a U turn and came back to ask me if I was a cop.

Not a bad idea that, but no I don't have a video camera, not a digital one anyway.
It was interesting seeing the different styles of riding out there, and riding gear (or lack of :shit:)

Yeah saw the bear knuckles too....
Reckon we might be able to set up a 'learning' come instructional video sequence inside of next autumn perhaps... a case of logistics and getting the right equipment and voluntary type of initiative.
Those pics themselves were excellent KD and perhaps just the start of things to come.

Gah!
What time were you there? I want to be famous! I recognise a few of those bikes.
"Bike Number 42" is cool :)
Some twat who had been stopped by the po po on the Featherston side (Along with some other overweight 'fast' cars) was just leaving where he had been pulled over, and pulled out in front of me! Like for fucks sake, if you get pulled over by the police, at least look when you pull out onto the road again.
Yeah, police on the hill eh? Try and catch me in yesterdays traffic... Bwahahahaha..
The wine festival/pissup was probably the reason. They had a speed camera and a booze bus on the road between Featherston and Martinbourgrhrghrg.

was that you in the silver holden sitting on the we knob at the bottom of the hill on the south side? you knob! silver holden!!! i was waving people down for miles to slow down! thinking you had a lazer.
when i came over from featherston there were 3 marked cop cars crossing the hill, one had a bike pulled over, think it was a new ktm duke.
Didn't think of that before I started. One bike did do a U turn and came back to ask me if I was a cop.

Next time, I think a sign saying "NOT A COP. TRY AND GET YER KNEE DOWN!!" might be in order.
I think on a nice day, taking photos and enjoying the sound of bikes, sitting on the hill could be fun. With beer.
If I drink, will you drive?

It is a pity you were following an Aprilia, as I like them and I followed it with the camera.
But I think this is you from the back (there are 3 other ones like this and one from the front without your head :dodge: )

Thats correct, Cannon 350D.

Is the following rider someone that hangs out on the forum? If so, you live just around the corner from me and I would love to catch up for a coffee or something.

OK, this is getting spooky. What time? We stopped to talk to that Ducati guy too ... new bike, blown ignition pack ... doesn't seem to happen to CBR's {smirk}
We stopped at the top of the hill about 5ish and had the obligatory yarn with the other 8 bikes all sitting there. It was the g/f's first big ride, 1 week on from the licence test on her 'new' Virago 500. Mine was the CBR with <cringe> pink wheels.
Yeah yeah ... I know ... it's getting the 2001 CBR600 "yellow" paint scheme (like this) - soon!

Late afternoon sometime. He was parked up just before the roadworks with the traffic lights, so he had a continuous audience of parked cages looking at him. Oh the shame

I'm sure Mrs CB and I saw this chap at the White Swan in Greytown a few weekends back. May even have been the day you were snapping, KD. He was with another (younger) rider - could have been father & son - both went their separate ways in opposite directions. Think the other guy was on a Monster.
We sat there trying to guess whose bike was whose. We were wrong! lol
