24,000km on the 600 cost $150 and that involves the valves.
But i also delivery it with out lower fairing, which in turn saves about 1hr worth of labour charge (even tho it takes 30 mins max to put off and on)

PM Classic_Z, or ph.his w/shop, 09-424 0477, he's just doing a service on an ST2 Duc that the owner was quoted a zillion dollars and up to 14 days to do! He'll have it ready in two days and only a quarter of a zillion... I suspect the owner of said Ducati will be very pleased.

ring the workshop at a suzuki shop and ask you bloody tit!!
you'd think so eh?
but when I rang around to get a price for the 750s 6000km service I was given figures from $160 up to $260.
I took it to Holeshot who quoted about $160 and ended up paying about $250 including $25 for an oil filter than I can get over the counter for $15 and fifty bucks worth of motul.
I want to try Mr Motorcycles in Pukekohe asI've heard good things about them but I'll see if they respond to my email and what price they come up with.
The bike WILL be going in sans plastique as I'll be fucked if I'm paying a mechanic $100 an hour for something I can fuck up myself.

No 24000K servicing worries!

They seem like a pretty good bunch in there mate, I have spoken to them before about servicing and they have a guy there who has a lot of experience with sports bike etc as most of them out there mainly work on quads and chook chasers.

that seams a shit load for a 24,000 service over all,
i could expect that if chaning a cam chain or simlar, but not just a service were checking valves etc. and new oil/filter and check over.
Some of you guys must get riped, all mine where done thru local suzuki dealer motogb at the mount
The_Dover

i think in auckland it's a case of
-check valve clearance
-have a shit
-have a coffee and a smoke
-check next valve clearance
-have another smoke
-hmm, must be time for a coffee too, the customer is payin
-check next valve clearance
-repeat until you lose track of where you had got to and then start again.
-give up, put bike back together, stamp warranty book, fudge timesheet, have coffee, add bit more to timesheet, send bill

My usual services cost around the $160 mark unless I change the oil/filter myself

For that sort of money you could make a back up copy of a suzuki dealers stamp to stamp your service book
Or you could get someone to borrow one from a suzuki dealer

brake fluid simple easy enough to do yourself, and i like to do once a year 18 months anyway.
Most of it is just inspect and well it sorta thing the average motorcyclist with half a brain watches/checks if they are warn out need replacing.

thanks Cajun.
I don't have required half a brain but my pit bitch does and he does all that shit fairly regular like anyway.
Brake fluid was all done when lines and rotors were changed.

$252.00 for 6K service at Colemans.
And the hose from the fuel tank wasn't put on properly so it was a lot of fun when it leaked whilst I was riding around a corner. The rear wheel got covered with fuel and the engine cut out.
I managed to go around the corner like Jeremy clarkson in a ferrari and come to a halt.

Hm. considering the assortment of ZX6Rs ZX10s, GSXR750s , GSXR1000s, Bandits, Boulevards, Vulcans and other assorted ironmongery that they have for sale: I rather think they may have some passing aquaintance with multi cylinder engines

fucken pussies... I have never had a service cost me less than $444... including my little zzr250... most expensive has been around $670 ish I think.
Since I don't ride my bike to church on sundays... I figure the bike needs to be looked after, and if thats the price, so be it.
You might also end up better off if you find a bike shop you like, have a relationship with them, etc. Things like servicing etc, it helps if the mechanic has a history with the bike, instead of having to try and find out. Stuff like loaners, bit of slack here and there, all comes easier when you know each other...

Given that a Suzuki rarely makes 24000 k's, I think you'll struggle finding a shop with any knowledge of performing a service at this interval.
Servicing a Suzuki with such unusual mileage will probably do more damage anyway so best just lube the chain and top the oil up.
Not bad for 4:30am eh?

Mmmmm! My last service was $75 at Colemans and they did a good job changing the oil and filter. Checked my brake pads and chain and sent me on my merry way. Had no complaints then, but will be using Classic_Z from now on - seems to know his stuff.
At 40k I'll probably have to do the valve adjustment next and possibly new chain and sprockets.
IN three years, though admittedly not a lot o miles, the old girl has been very cheap to run, (so's the bike...:innocent: ).

Get a quote Mr Dover, then make sure they stick to it.
6000km service down here turned out costing quite a bit less than the $300 than the dealer quoted. Sweet.
A' course, I needed a new rear tyre, so that bumped it way up again. But that was a bit cheaper than mr dealer quoted as well.
Perhaps Dover you should bring the bike down to Masterton for the service.
