The council in Manchester installed some retractable bollards to stop people using bus lanes. It’s causing a bit of uproar with the public.

Sod just having them on bus lanes. Fit a sound sensor to them. I'd pay to watch souped up twats with loud stereos and exhausts having their cars harpooned.

there is a passage way only for buses.
and two posts a metre apart 1 metre or so high, stopping car going through.
when a bus comes along, they go down into the ground.
when the bus has gone over, they come up again.

Cars try to be sneaky and zip through. and they any up crashing into them.
the posts end up coming up about 30 cm before the car hits them, just in behind the bumper!
and the yare then stuck there!!

Thats priceless, It's almost as if they know they are there and just try it on. Although felt a bit sorry for the wagon with the child in the back, the rest are funny as hell :rofl: :rofl:

Yeah the buses have a tranciever installed so that when they pass within close proximity to the sensor the bollards are retracted. There are a couple of government buildings in NZ that have had them installed. The drivers have been given instruction on timeframes etc and the bollards have been widely publicised.

...And that vid is bloody hilarious!!

Finally managed to view this - very funny..all the drivers were aware they were breaking the law and took a chance - hence the speed the black family wagon was doing...you're not supposed to do stoppies in people carriers are you?

The start of the clip shows a huge neon sign warning people.

They'l be able to claim on their insurance no problem - but their premiums will be as much as their payout after that..and since it's UK..drive uninsured and go to jail.
