Anthony Gobert is making a comeback to motocross, racing in the Maxxis Australian Motocross Championship at the Appin circuit outside Sydney.

"This will be my first visit to Appin since a mini masters event in 1990, so it's going to be a real eye-opener," said Gobert. "I've been training a bit recently, but my race pace is probably the biggest question mark. But first I'll get through practice and get a feel for it all, I can't wait."

The former WSB and MotoGP rider was a top motocrosser, winning the Australian Motocross and Supercross Championships before moving to circuit racing.

From what I understand he did not race, and maybe didn't even turn up to
the meeting.

Kinda sums the guy up nicely - so much talent it is untrue, but the mental attitude? Sloppy, to say the least. He could - and should - have been so much more successful, but he never seemed to have the mindset to go with the talent.

Couldn't stay off the wrong substances is basically his problem.

As they said: The Go Show, was a No Show.

The guy can ride, but what a wastes a lot of oxygen.
Sorry, but with his riding skills, and the doors that it could and has opened.
And what does he do with it?
Yes I'm jealous.

I'm so surprised that people still back him. (that is sponsor's)
With his track record.

I think that he was going to race a Motard in the weekend, but I have heard
nothing about that, so maybe it was a no show as well.

Glenn Allerton in his first ever Motard race won, on a stock motor too.

I just read that the Gobert did turn up.

And this sums it up.

"Turned up late. Crashed. Left early..."
