Does anybody know why east side of Chch is 2c cheaper than west side?
Went for a peek-a-boo out at Taylors Mistake and noticed that all petrol stations on the east side of central were 2c cheaper than central/west side.
Does anybody know why?
Anyhow, I enjoyed filling up at BP on the return trip with my Pak N Save discount slip - whoo-hoo, got effectively a 6c discount!
Note to self: Just because it's fine at home, it's probably raining at Taylors Mistake but the sharp twists and turns were exciting!

The west side's a dangerous place. Gotta cover the cost of bullets for the gas station workers 9's!

Gee what are you going to do with the extra dollar you saved?
I'm thinking some kind of long-term deposit scheme?

Damn you FP.
Here I am stuck at work (working not posting on KB... honest), and there you are galavanting around the country side.
Back on the topic, I've found the BP just past QE2 is also at least $0.01 cheaper than elsewhere. So I generally fill up there on my way to or from my mates place.

Yeah...but is shopping at Pak'n'Save worth the $8.00 you save on gas...
The answer is no.
As for choosing a gas station just because it is 1 cent cheaper...now that takes the cake...:shit:

Actually, the east side is more dangerous, that's where most street gangs are.
Guess this might be a ploy by the stations to reduce drive off's?

Might as well when I'm there anyway. Driving all that way just to fill up would be a different story.

Was gallivanting around the country side this past Sunday. Like yourself, at work at the moment. Would've posted this earlier but was thinking about the content for my 1k post milestone.

yep, ive noticed that, but all over the east south island. found one station was as high as $1.52/l! i peeked in the tank and hoped id have enough to get me where i needed to be. also found one that was $1.34 i think, so that worked well.
stopped at one here in dunedin to get some directions, and while i was taking off my lid, a woman pulled up wanting gas. she was basically told to bugger off as he was closing! ive never seen someone who would turn away a paying customer like that! well, hes put me off going back. typical shell.

Nope havent noticed that ,,,Petro oil is still cheap here ,,,, 120 yen a litre ,
7 000 yen for the car , to fill up ,,, spent more than that on beer to nite !
But I would agree there does seem to be a few Hoodies ,,,east side ..I would raise the price ,,just to cover the price ... just to deal with em

Coming from the UK I was surprised that all the petrol stations were selling fuel for the same price - in the UK you can get price fluctuations of up to 5p per litre within 30km.
I worked in Cheshunt and lived in Stevenage but always bought petrol in Cheshunt coz it was considerably cheaper - interesting to learn that NZ petrol station owners have finally worked out the machiavellian machinations of supply and demand.
