Carl Fogarty has been awarded an honorary doctorate. The four-time World Superbike Champion was granted the title of Honorary Doctor of Civil Law by the University of Huddersfield.

"Yes, I was surprised and thrilled to bits when I was asked to receive this honour," said Fogarty who was joined by wife Michaela and daughters Danielle and Claudia. "I've got an MBE from the Queen and I've been asked to open colleges and engineering departments that have been named after me, but I've never been made a doctor”.

More to the point where the fuck is Huddersfield? Certainly isn't an Oxford or a Cambridge.

Get an education (or an atlas) Goat Reamer, it's in West Yorkshire.

I know someone who fucked foggies wife (allegedly) when they came skiing at the resort I worked in. Foggie was a bit of a cunt actually, and other people I know that have met him said the same.

You are such a lovely wee man Dover, thanks for keeping up the British way of spreading rumours with out any facts ( allegedly)

Less of the wee, short arse.

the same guy used to bone Michaela Strachan and her mum. He was a hairdresser.

Ah Foggies wife, the amount of people that have laid claim to doing such a thing is incredible, I was in a bar in Dublin one night and herd at least 3 racers say they had done the same thing, so unless Carl is deaf? or likes a used port? I believe it is all a load of wannnnabe wank ya wee thing you:done:

If Michaela had done the deed with everyone who claims they've been there, she'd never have time to stand up! Same with Suzi Perry - far as I know (and I used to share press rooms with Suzi), she has never been near anyone on the racing circuit - but if you believed the claims, most of the paddock has been there.

Probably both victims of someone trying it on, being told to shove off, and then the twat telling tales to boost their own ego.

I've only met Fogarty twice - once taking photos for a review... and he is very good at making sure everyone gets their pictures taken. Also met him at another show when a quote was needed. And to be honest he wasn't all that interested, but did (after having what it was for explained, nodding in agreement then saying "so what is it for?") come up with a quick one-liner.

If you read his (frankly, not very good) book, it comes across that he isn't out there to be liked. And that attitude is how he raced like he did.

Yeh that'd be fairly sweet... bet she looks fairly shit by now, but was a pretty reasonable chick in her day.

Used to have a bit of a spot for Anika as well (as in challenge Anika).

Oi your self, it is the British media way of doing things:yes: Don't take it personelly

But I AM the British media! Well a part-time part of it anyway. In another place, far far away, I get paid some genuine money for finding all this rubbish!

MCN? Now them I accept as never letting the truth get in the way of a good story. And our more base tabloids are pretty damn awful. But we still haven't sunk as low as something like the National Enquirer.

Well just yet anyway...

Dr of Civil Law, eh?
My reckon that that was the nearest they could get to a commentary on his character. Perhaps the 'civil' bit was to say, "Now that you are a Doctor of Civil Law, Foggy, you have no excuse for being uncivil."

I reckon he should've been given more than one degree. Perhaps a Dr of Whingeing, or Master of Moaning, or a some sort of award for blaming everyone else for everything, even when he'd made the podium. :Pokey:

He may have won the odd race or two, but to my mind he's a sorry excuse for a human being, no sportsman, and a Prize Dick.

That's it! They could award him a D PD: Doctorate in Prize Dickery.

Dam, well said! But I bet he would kick your arse on a bike though, which is what his job was, and he did it very very well. So what if the world does not like him, why should he care, he gets ?got paid to win races and championships, and that is just what he did in brilliant style:yes:

I know people that know him well and like him! but each to there own I guess

Yes, no doubt he was a good rider and won same races. It used to piss me off though when he was on the podium, and instead of being happy like others (Rossi, Chili, Capirossi, Melandri, etc.) he was busy whingeing about how his tyres weren't good, or the bike wasn't good or someone held him up blah blah blah.
I'd heard he didn't even particularly like racing bikes, only winning. Far cry from Rossi, who LOVES racing and loves bikes.
And is always so happy, and passionate.

Ah fukkit.
I dunno what to say.
I don't know Fogarty, but what I saw didn't endear him to me at all. But I'm sure if I rang him up he'd say summat like "Who the fook are you? Piss off!!"
