Hi everyone, I've put this up as a separate thread so it gets noticed better but the message is - I've just had a call from the manager of the Station we're staying at and they are getting a bit pissed off with people coming in, looking around the shearers quarters without asking, ringing or making any effort to seek permission first. They seem to think it is people associated with this weekend trip of ours - so PLEASE keep out of there or if you absolutely have to go and look either PM me first so I can help T it up or contact the manager directly before you get there.
There is some risk if this continues we might lose the use of the place so please pass this on to any one you know who might have been intending to just "pop in" on their way past.
Looking forward to a great ride and fun weekend and catching up with new names and faces on the 9th
Thanks
Bruce

Shee-it Bruce, we don't need THAT!:gob: Why are these people doing this?
I expect a few red faces on 'The Night' if it IS KBers eh?
They owe us a shout.

That's not good. I guess its one of the problems with a public forum, maybe we needed to be a little more discreet with the location?

Thing is Mr S., how many of us have had the time/motivation to go and see Camp KB at Otematata?
And if you did what were you looking for? to see how much Perrier is stocked in the fridge?????

That's what gets me, there is nothing to be gained in checking the venue out (especially from chch where you're talking a 650+km round trip, not that that's a lot, but its no Sunday morning ride either).

At the same time by being very open we are perhaps setting ourselves for gatecrashers, don't know.

Ruralman, what rationale do the property owners have for pointing the finger at KBers???????????

Thats a very good question SD - the answer is I don't know and the manager wasn't really sure either. The overall manager who rang me doesn't live on the property but has other staff down there and they are the ones who raised the issue.
I have said to him that I would be surprised if it was our lot but that I would put something on here to put a stop to it if it was. Not much else we can do. Sounds like the staff hadn't had a chance to talk to whoever it was checking out the place so there could well be some inaccurate assumptions being made.
Anyway lets hope it all goes quiet till after our visit!

Yip I doubt it very much... they however may have a reason to complain after we leave :dodge:

I nominate SD as night time security... bouncer if ya wish

Have only just popped onto this to have a gander at the going on's for the Mount Cook run, and have to say that if they are that fussed about living in sheep shearing quarters for one night, then they had better turn their shiny poncy machine's around and buy a car and never dare to get their hands dirty again.......Idiots, whoever they may be eh. Have just opened and been drinking some red vino,so will refrain from throwing further insults into the nobby folks, who appear to be viewing before they stay. Just hope they dont come, they will probably be the sort that moan about everything.

Well its good to see that Scummypoos and Sensible Shag Teddy and Dangerous are all coming to the rally.

Dangerous was very cool to see you at the Nelson rally I stayed for another 6 days, Nelson is such a lush place.

Scummy, I will ring you re the, toy run in Dunners and the Long Drop as I am doing both and it woudl be rather funky to do the two with you guys.

Any oye sensible will be good to cathya there around Mount Cook. You will be pleased to hear that my trumpy is alive and well, even though I felt a little jaded to ride it on the thunder run on the Saturday in Nelson.

Rightyo better go, wrote a long reply and practising my dribble in time for some up and coming rallies.

Ha,

Live long and propser Dudes, look forwward to bopping away with all of you at future rallies.

Coi for now, woodybee, aka UK Jan :):scooter:  :Punk: :sunny:
